    rams history-rank the following rams

rank the following three rams former players in terms of "all time great rams"

The criteria is both performance and longevity. Are any, all or some combination of these three guys all time great rams.

    leroy irvin
    jerry gray
    todd lyght.

Nice job w/the numbers, RnD. And yet, for me, I would vote for Jerry Gray -- I just liked him better overall as a Ram. Fan favoritism if you will...

Granted we have a picture of my son Jonathan with Irvin outside Anaheim Stadium right after the Rams defeated the Lions, 1988. And his autograph too.

i think my conclusion, subject to more input from the guys on this board that have been around long enough, is that the three of them are very very comparable. Its a personal preference issue. I dont think you can really categorize them differently. My view is that gray was probably the best of the three and certainly went to the most pro bowls, but he played for the rams for the shortest period of time (it was either 6 or 7 years vs about 10 years for the other 2 i believe). Irvin was a great great punt returner and that is a point in his favor. His career numbers are virtually the same as todd lyghts. As for lyght, he not only played a long time, he was part of the championship team, which helps elevate him in the pantheon of all time rams.
