    Rams Interested In Morris?

    Sammy Morris

A league source with knowledge of the situation told Scout.com Tuesday the St. Louis Rams have entered the picture for the services of UFA RB Sammy Morris (Miami). The Seattle Seahawks are expected to resume talks again later this week and the Miami Dolphins also are said to be interested in re-signing him.

    Wouldn't be a bad pick up! I'd take him. Although I'd rather have 1. Jackson , 2. Faulk, 3. M. Drew

I was thinking the same thing. If we are not going to go after a running back in the draft, I wouldn't mind having him in and compete for the third back spot.

It's always good to have solid depth at running back.

    Not sure on this...

What would he add to the team but depth?? We need a kick and punt returner. I would much rather take a chance on a kid in the draft that has potential then signing one that hasn't been all the successful. He would be no better than any other street free agent that we could get, in my opinion.

Sammy Morris, huh. Hmm, well, I believe Lou Brown can sum up my thoughts pretty well.

Sammy Morris is a tough straight-line runner much like Arlen Harris. A career backup without the potential of a draftee, but he's also played special teams and had 17 tackles last year... not bad for a third-string RB. He'd be a great replacement for Harris as long as he's signed at the league minimum.

Whew! My heart skipped a beat when I had visions of Bam being the Morris the Rams might be interested in. He's recently petitioned the NFL for reinstatement now that he's out of the slammer.
