Now that Hitman Hedgecock has become an important name here in the thread, I must reiterate: I was a fan of his and turned sour at seeing him released -- and succeeding with the NYG all the way to the SB! ...With GC, I too remain puzzled.

Not too interested in Kreider. Taking into consideration his age, size, and injuries (fully rehabilitated or not), I think we can do better. Exactly WHO is the question. Richard Owens, I thought, was going to be a positive answer. Not sure if he will stay as the definite answer.

    RR,

dont forget Lorenzo Neal has been the best lead bloker in the league at a far older age than Kreider`s 31...we all agree that it depends on himself being physically able...who do you think is better that we could get?

These fulls that CAN block are quiet specialists. They make stars that run behind them big money and usually have long carreers. I love to see the big dudes get the ball.

Back in the day...... the Big Red had a FB named Otis, I think from Penn State, who blocked for Otis Anderson and others who, when handed the ball, was ALWAYS good for three yards. But Just three.

I believe that Jim Otis hailed from Ohio State. He also teamed with Terry Metcalf to give a real thunder and lightening kind of combo.

I believe Jim Otis was gone the year before Anderson started running the ball for the Red. And I think Wayne Morris was Anderson's FB, IIRC.

Yeah, yeah. Thanks guys for the heads up, it's been a while. Anymore Big Red stuff and we'll be branded bandwagoners or worse, be exposed as over thirty. And sorry for the O State / Penn State blunder. A fundamental Poo Poo on me. My bad. But thanks for the memories.
