Sure hope IP does learn and vindicates himself. Plenty of time for a promising future ... perhaps.

Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part I - IV

Still holding some long standing Rams records for a DB, Eddie Meador played 12 straight years wearing the horns and No. 21 (1959-70). A Ram throughout his NFL career.

Several times Pro Bowler and All-Pro, Meador finished his career with 46 INTs and most opponent fumble recoveries 18; also most blocked kicks, 10; all Rams records. Hard hitter, sure tackler and ball hawk. Returned punts and kickoffs too. Excellent ball holder for PKs and crafty with fake plays, rushing for a TD and also passing for a TD in the mid 60s after being in FG formation.

For a while down-to-earth Rams diehards wanted to see him nominated for the HOF.

"Eddie Meador was one of the finest defensive backs l have ever seen. Outstanding in coverage and a fierce tackier, he had a remarkable nose for the football that allowed him to come up with big plays again and again during his career with the Rams. He was also a fine leader and one of my favorite teammates."
    -- HOF Merlin Olsen

"There is no way to describe Eddie Meador in one word. Meador is the best free safety in pro football. You can't replace an Eddie Meador" -- Rams Head Coach George Allen

Group meeting and task effort Vs Philly! Meador is right on the back of the Eagles RB.

Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part I - IV

In 1981 and then '83-85, QB Jeff Kemp played a total of 24 games. In '83-86 (and a few games in '87), a running back by the name of Eric Dickerson also played -- and he overshadowed the entire Rams offense.

Hmm, I wonder if pressure was off of Kemp for having ED running beautifully and setting rushing records, or ... was pressure increased on Kemp for having to play QB! Hard to tell as it may be a question meant for politicians -- Jeff's father was Jack Kemp, U.S. House of Representatives and former NFL QB himself for 10 years.

Jeff is current Vice President of Family Life / HomeBuilder. Was in the Executive Committee of Pro Athletes Outreach, which trains professional athletes to be responsible role models and leaders. He speaks and trains on teamwork and keynotes for corporate conferences, association meetings, Governor’s and Community Prayer Breakfast, youth and athletic events. Good family man.

JKemp as a Rams QB with jersey No. 9.

QB Bill Munson started on and off for the Rams since he was drafted in the 1st round, 1964. When coach Allen arrived in '66 however, he preferred Gabriel as a starter so Munson opted to be traded and went to Detroit in '67 where he played several years with the Lions. Munson was Rams No. 19.

More of a blocking RB, Travis Minor played for the Rams in 2007-08; also returned some kickoffs.

    Jersey No. 22. -

... 'The Scooter', RB Dick Bass played his entire career with the Rams (1960-69). Scored 34 TDs rushing, 7 receiving. Fan favorite of the era with No. 22.

Bass also returned punts and kickoffs. In 1961 he returned a punt 9 yards for the score. Had somewhat of a problem with fumbles (43 career) but was nevertheless a real workhorse / workram.

With No. 11, 'The Blade' Jim Everett was a 1st round Draft QB pick in 1986 (3 overall) by Houston but was traded right away to the Rams due to a contract situation. Everett played good QB with the Rams until ’93, making the playoffs three times.

Back-up QB Milt Plum only played a few games for the Rams in 1968 (out of a total 12 years in the NFL as a starter in Cleveland and Detroit). An ephemeral No. 16.

RB John Cappelletti was a Rams 1st round Draft pick in 1974 and played five years with the team. No. 22 was a good blue collar player that rushed for 2,200+ yards and scored 15 TDs.

Flanker and WR Bernie Casey played for the Rams in 1967-68, 26 games in which he tallied 13 TDs and 1,400+ yards (avg. 18 yds per catch). Big receiver at 6-4" 215 lbs. for his time.

Also known as an artist - poet & painter - as well as an actor that you've probably seen in a flick or two.

The over-the-left-shoulder 5 yard catch pictured below is of the last minute winning TD vs Green Bay, one of the two final must wins games of the '67 season played at home. What a game that was!

Fortunately the Rams did win both and made the playoffs.

-- Rams 2nd round Draft pick in 2008. Jersey No. 17.

WR hopeful Donnie Avery was only able to play in '08 and '09. He caught a combined total of 1,200 yards and eight TDs. Missed the 2010 season due a serious knee injury; released before the 2011 season.
