Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part II - IV

Full list is divided in 25s or, four parts. This here is II / IV

Numbers 26 through 50. What players are missing?

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

We all know these things happen but it was - and will be - sad to see our terrific Jax leave the Rams.

Steven Jackson, a huge part of the Rams offense from 2004-12 is now very well respected by fans and foe alike. 1st round pick (24th overall) in '04, he gave it all to help us advance even through hard transition periods. RB with Super jersey No. 39 that totaled 10,000+ hard rushing yards in his career (by 2012).

ULTIMATE WARRIOR type of player. Hail King Jax!

That's Pisa Tinoisamoa, Rams LB from 2003-08, a 2nd round draft selection by STL. His rookie year PT led the team in tackles (76). Too bad injuries caused him to miss 12 games between '06 and '07. No. 50.

Rams WR Harold Jackson played a couple of games in 1968 then continued from 1973-77. During his tenure with us he scored 36 TDs via 3,590 yds from 200 passes caught. He played with jersey No. 29 but had No. 48 his rookie year.

A 6th round pick by the Rams in 2010, Fendi Onobun was to be a college basketball player turned NFL TE project but this never panned out. He's been on the practice squad with a couple of other teams since and is still trying to find a team this year.

Here's another example of a player who's career was short lived in the NFL: Jeff Jordan played for three years, his rookie season being at RB for the Rams (1970) in nine games.

Still, you, my friend, are on the list! JJ had No. 31.

Also in this pic is HOF guard Tom Mack (65) and Ken Iman, ironman center. Clic on image:

The Long-snapper, too often underrated (except, of course, when making bad snaps). Jake McQuaide joined the Rams in 2011, currently with No. 44.

    McQuaide and Zuerlein

The duties of the front office are difficult and demanding, and player selection in all its forms is just ONE of the responsibilities. Case in point, Jerious Norwood was signed in 2011. A good RB, "but" things did not work the way they were expected. Interesting.

    Jersey No. 34.

1st round pick (10th overall) by the Rams in 1993 was RB Jerome Bettis, No. 36. Played until '95. Yet again, another retro 'what could have been!' speculative move. Maybe we just missed the bus.

Just last year Bradley Fletcher was still in the Rams secondary mix, he played CB for us from 2009-12 after being drafter by STL in the 3rd round. He had No. 32.

With a contract extension in place for James Laurinaitis, it seems we have a solid MLB as part of of a still improving, strong, young Rams defense. No. 55 may have his best year yet in 2013.

Wearing No. 33 for the Rams from 1959 to '62 was a great RB, Ollie Matson. NFL HOF Class of 1972. Sadly, Matson died in 2011 at the age of 80 after suffering during his last few years what were believed to be complications from multiple concussions and a form of dementia.

Another player from the 2011 stable was Rod Hood, CB with No. 26. Played seven games that year (thanks to Mike for the 'One Way to Measure the Rams Progress' by M. Sando thread).

One of my favorite RBs from the John Robinson years was Greg Bell, No. 42. He played from 1987-89 and did a more than decent job in filling Eric Dickerson's big shoes.

The last year in DB Herman Edwards career, 1986, was playing in a Rams uniform in Anaheim. I'm still looking for a photo of him wearing the horns helmet. Anyone have one? Please let me know if you'd like to share.

Was active only for four games as a Ram with his usual No. 46 but, coach, 'YOU are on our list!'

From Iowa State came a QB / RB / DB that ended up playing for the Rams as a Safety and was a starter in 1965-68. No. 44, Chuck Lamson.
