    Ben Wilson was a Rams RB in 1963-65. Ran for a combined total of 1,100 yards, 7 TDs via ground attack and 2 TDs receiving. Solid journeyman type of player, No. 36. Football card picture is ca. 1963?

    Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part II - IV

    Jim Benton was a Rams receiver since the Cleveland years. There he played in 1944 and '45 then followed the Rams to Los Angeles the last two years of his career, '46-47 (before the bighorns grew on the helmets).

    Benton played 22 games with the L.A. Rams wearing No. 49. Caught passes for 1,400+ yards and 12 TDs with the Rams.

    Vintage Rams football. Very vintage...

    In Mike Furrey the Rams had a WR / S versatile player that was part of the roster from 2003-05, at times a starter. In '03 Furrey had 20 catches for 189 yards (9.5 avg), and in '05 he had 4 INTs, one of which he returned 67 yards for a TD.

    Mike wore jerseys No. 25 as a S, and 82 for WR. 'You remember him? "Just" seven years ago!

    Kicker Bruce Gossett played for the Rams from 1964-69 (in '69 the Rams won their first 11 games of the regular season -- I can still feel that excitement).

    Gossett made 120 FGs out of 207 with the Rams . [That's 58%. Back then place kickers were still kicking in a straight foward motion, even with a special shoe that had a flat front tip. Percentage ratio began increasing as more PKs came into the NFL incorporating a soccer style technique.]

    For six years from 1950 to '55 Woodley Lewis played End, RB and DB for the Rams. Lewis also returned punts and kickoffs (scored 3 TDs, including an 82 and 78 scampers and an 88 yard kickoff return for a score). Jersey No. 30.

    As a rookie in 1950 playing DB, Lewis was all over the ball and came up with 12 INTs to lead the league in that category that year. Clic on image below...

    Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part II - IV

    A CORDIAL INVITATION.

    I'm currently on the last few players to post in this series of Rams Jerseys Remembered: All-time, 2012 Edition. I'd like to invite anyone to post a player in any of the four parts (PT I: 0-25; PT II: 26-50; PT III: 51-75; PT IV: 76-99).

    For example, here in Part II ... if someone would like to place one of their favorite players from 1946 to 2012? A little about the player's tenure with the Rams, a stat or two and a couple of images.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE! Thanks ClanRam!

    BTW, stats and/or other data for Rams players that I've mentioned in these four threads are mainly from:

    * . Databasefootball.com, or,
    * . Pro-Football Reference.com, or,
    * . STL Rams Official Website.com, or,
    * . Wikipedia

    Images are from the Internet and from "my" Rams items collection.

    With No. 39 in 1970-71 was CB Kermit Alexander. A fine DB, Alexander completed his tenure with the Rams with 7 INTs and 2 TD, including an 82 yard score in '71.

    Below, Alexander and Petitbon.

    Lindon Crow was a Rams DB from 1961-64. His first two years with the Rams Crow intercepted a total of 11 passes that he returned for 217 yards and 2 TDs, one that he ran back 65 yards for the score.

    Below, Crow (No. 41) and LB Bob Long (84) in coverage vs Packers, ca. 1962. In the background is DE Deacon Jones (75).

    Part of the first team the Rams had in Los Angeles (1946) was FB Mike Holovak with No. 45. Holovak played in the NFL only three years, one with the Rams before they had the horns placed on their helmets.

    From 1989-91 Frank Stams played LB for the Rams (converted from DT in college). Stams was a 2nd round pick by the Rams in '89. Jersey No. 50.

    Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part II - IV

    RB Greg Hill played for Rams in 1998 but suffered a broken leg during the 3rd game of that year (he was among the NFL leading rushers for the first two games in '98 with 240 yards and 2 TDs).

    By the time he was ready before the start of '99, a new Marshall was in town and Hill left for Detroit.

    Who would have guessed what the Rams were in for in 1999! Below, Greg Hill in 1998, No 27.

    DB Eric Bassey’s NFL career was only two years in duration, both with the STL Rams as a ST player (2007-08). He wore jersey No. 41.
