Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part IV - IV

Only players with at least one regular season game are listed...

Full list is divided in 25s or, four parts. This here is IV / IV

Numbers 76 through 99. What players are missing?

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

A Rams 1st round Draft selection in 1997 (1st pick overall) LT Orlando Pace came in strong and by 1999 he was a Pro Bowler and a SB XXXIV champion! Pace was a Ram with No. 76 until 2008 and elected to the Pro Bowl a total of seven times -- five times All-Pro -- but injuries and contract disputes ended with him leaving STL for Da' Bears in 09.

    ...Thanks for the memories Big-O!

Another Rams 1st round Draft pick but in 1961 was USC LB Marlin McKeever, No. 86, was also a TE. He played for the Rams from 1961-66 then again in '71-72. Rams MVP in 1971.

Robert Quinn, DE with No. 94 is a powerful playmaker still coming into his prime, a promise for years to come. I hope he continues to solidify his potential in parallel with the Rams improving defense. He was a 1st round Draft pick in 2011.

All the best -- that RQ may be on his way to the day he repeats the words of Deacon Jones:
"I came, I saw, and I did conquer!"

Alvin Wright, a good NT for our Rams from 1986-91 and partially in '92. Undrafted player, donned No. 99.

Special Teams kick return specialist Tony Horne played three years in the NFL, 1998-00, all Rams. No. 82.

Horne was All-Pro in the year of Super Bowl XXXIV. During the regular season thrice he returned kickoffs for 100+ yd. scores. Signed by Chiefs in 2001 but suffered a career ending knee injury before playing.

To play 16, 19, 20 years in the NFL is a remarkable feat in itself. Add to that the fact that such a player would be in the trenches all this time -- a major merit!

HOF Jackie Slater was a Rams OT his entire career, 1976-95 (no matter if he played one game in '95). One of our very best right tackles of all time, a consummate pro.

    No. 78 with a tenure of 259 games. Pro-Bowler / All-Pro several years.

In 2012 the Rams drafted DE George Selvie in the 7th round.

-- Selvie played every game that year on a rotational basis. Had both No. 90 and 98.

Playing receiver (End) eight years in the NFL (1950-57), all RAMS, was Bob Boyd, including as a part of the Champion team of '51. Jersey No. 82.

In 1954 he caught 53 passes for 1,212 yards and 6 TDs, was Pro Bowl and All-Pro that year. Retired after his career with the L.A. Rams.

A well-liked player who played his entire career with the Rams from 1965-75 was Jack Snow, later a Rams sportscaster. Sadly, he died too early in 2006 at the age of 62.

Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part IV - IV

    Two fine Rams tackles!

Roger Brown was a Fearsome Foursome Pro Bowl caliber replacement at DT (for RGrier) and played from 1967-69, extending the years when our defense was just awesome / terrific. No. 78.

    -

Then we had mean OT Bob Brown, also Pro Bowl / All-Pro playing for the Rams in 1969-70. An aggressive, tough right tackle. '69 was the year the Rams went undefeated their first 11 games. [ Can you imagine how pumped us fans were!?! ] And big 'Boomer' Brown was there big time, No. 76, helping the offense ram through. BBrown was inducted into the HOF, Class of 2004.

DE Lamar Lundy (also a TE initially) played his entire NFL career of 13 years with the Rams, 1957-69. Good pass blocker at 6-7" and long arms, returned 3 INTs for scores. Senior member of the fabled Fearsome force.

Looks like we got a block here from Lamar!

Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part IV - IV

Rams Rookie of the Year in 1994 and Rams MVP the following two years; several years Pro Bowl & All-Pro; very first NFL catch is for a 34 yard TD; as a Ram he accumulated roughly 15,000 yards receiving, 84 TDs. Played 14 years with the Rams, 1994-07.

One of the main components of the GSOT. His No. 80 jersey retired: "Bruuuuuuce!"

Isaac Bruce or as I like to call him, 'Sir Isaac' was the L.A. / STL Rams elite WR from 1994-07. One of the SB XXXIV Champions that would wear that ring with true distinction. Oh, and a class act too, great character and persona.
