Danario Alexander, WR with good potential and bad wheels – at least during his tentative tenure with the STL Rams of 2010-11; jersey No. 84. Half of the time fans (myself included) would be rooting for him, half of the time fans (myself included) would be holding our breath fearing a serious injury. Apparently DX did fine last year in San Diego? ...Hmmm.

Paul Miller played OE and DE for the L.A. Rams from 1954-57 (NFL Championship final in '55). Some NFL players were still working double duty, i.e., both sides of the scrimmage line. Miller had jersey No. 81.

Billy Truax, a fine TE with No. 87 played most of his 10 year NFL career with the L.A. Rams, 1964-70. During these seven seasons with the Rams he caught 180 passes, gained 2,177 yards and scored 16 TDs. Good receiver, blocker.

From 1977-82 Bill Waddy was on of the L.A. Rams WRs squad; had a 16.4 yard receiving avg. and scored 10 TDs in his tenure with the Rams. He had No. 80 jersey until Henry Ellard took over in 1983.

YT video of Waddy's GWTD in 1979 playoff game at Dallas, the year of SB XIV.

A 3rd round Draft pick in 2008, OG John Greco didn't play until the last game that year due to injuries. He remained with the STL Rams until 2010 with jersey No. 79. Clic on images below...

Tackle (most likely OT + DT) Leonard Levy played for the L.A. Rams in 1946 and was with the Cleveland Rams the year before. Jersey No. 76.

Re: RAMS JERSEYS REMEMBERED, All-time: 2012 edition. Part IV of IV

In reference to post #68, Bob Long who played LB for the Rams in 1960-61 with No. 84 is seen in the attachment below vs. Green Bay Packers in 1960 (Packers did not yet have the 'G' logo on their helmets).

That image shows a typical 'nowhere to run' situation as the Rams defense gang tackles Packer RB Paul Hornung (No. 5) for no gain: L-R Rams are Vernon Valdez, DB in background (47); John LoVetere, DT (76); Lou Michaels, DL (55)*; Lamar Lundy, DE (85) [Michaels is behind LoVetere and Lundy]; jumping on top to reinforce stop: Les Richter, LB (48); grabbing ball carrier's arm from bottom is George Strugar, probably not as smiley as in previous post, DT (77); and Bob Long, LB (84).

*.- Although the number is barely visible, I researched rosters and used the process of elimination by deducing number format. Partially visible face also proves it to be Lou Michaels (see image below of No. 55). Michaels played DL and PK for the L.A. Rams from 1958-60. Between 1959 and '60 he made 10 FGs and even returned an INT for a score his rookie year in '58.

Also No. 84 with the Rams but from 1956-59, was Flanker / End (WR today) Leon Clarke.

Thank you for watching amigos. I've enjoyed it -- again, it's a hobby of mine as a Rams fan.

    GO RAMS IN 2013!
