It would be unfair to tag Donnie Avery, jersey No. 17, as a flash in the pan -- he might still play with us, yes? -- but this WR hasn't been able to prove his potential during the couple of years he was with the Rams (2008-10). That infamous injury curse.

Richie Petitbon, No. 17 as well, was a very good DB that only played two years with the Rams, 1969-70. '69 was the year we went undefeated the first 11 games of the regular season (he helpled with 5 INTs as a Ram defender that season). He then followed coach Allen to the Redskins where eventually he too served several years as a head coach, then later as a secondary coach. Ah, yes... Petitbon, along with the great Safety Eddie Meador (entire NFL career with the Rams, 1959-70, a sure, tough tackler and interceptor [46 INTs = 547 yards]), No. 21, they were a terrific tandem in those years.

Clic on images below, second one shows both Petitbon and Meador.

HOFamer, feisty Norm Van Brocklin was the Rams QB from 1949-57, including '51 NFL Champions.

    'The Flying Dutchman' wore jerseys No. 13 / 25 / 11.

The amount of holding penalties the Rams had to overcome was crazy. Jim Everett was Mr "Cluth" that night on 3rd down. An amazing game and great memories, RealRam.
My son Michael Jr. was born that very second when Mike Kicked that game winning field goal. They were yelling at me that "I had a son, come in" "I replied wait one second". Uncool I know but a die hard fan I am and always have been since 1966 in middle school.

Mike's 42 yard field goal in New Orleans on the final play of the 1983 season's final game gave the Rams a 26-24 win over the Saints and sent the Rams to the playoffs over the Saints. In 1989, he kicked a last second field goal in San Francisco to beat the ***** 13-12
