"A team and organization that was never truly recognized for its significance to L.A., to all of professional sports. A team that now sadly threatens to fade from our memories."
I think if they would have opened this to the public they would have been surprised how many of us would have showed up. I would think they could have made it some kind of charity event or something. Maybe the league wouldn't back it, but I would have gone and I think a lot of Rams fans still out would too....Thanks for the memories boys!
I'm torn between having the Rams leave L.A. and St.Louis. On the one hand, I hated it when teams like Dallas N.Y.Giants or SF went into Anaheim, there were tons of their Fans present. Where was the support from L.A.?Granted, the Rams weren't winning super bowls, but they were having "some" success. On the other, They did win the Superbowl in StL. Maybe it's the fact that people will only support you if you win, and only DIEHARDS (i.e. Real Ram fans, not fake ones) will support you no matter what. I miss the now defunct, L.A. Rams, the team I grew loving as a kid.
Long long debate on several issues there. Yes I hated the 49'ers fans (bandwagoners) that were here as well, but this is large metropolis with people from the all over the US so you see that more often than the smaller or older cities if you will. I would never wish the Rams to leave St. Louis. They won the Super bowl there and their fans have supported them well....however that being so stated if they did choose to come back, I would dance in streets for weeks on end and you couldn't take the smile off my face for a year at least.
An interesting trip down memory lane... thanks Greatestshow99!
I have to agree with Moon. This event should've been open to the public. I remember going to the Cardinals 100th anniversary program as a kid back in 1992, and I have to tell you, I got goosebumps just watching past and present Cardinal players right before my eyes. It was a special night. I wish the current Ram organization would do something similar to that this year in St. Louis. Give the fans a refresher course on the history of the Rams. I assume that the players will be wearing a 70th anniversary patch on the upper left side of their jerseys..
Rams back in L.A. by 2012. You heard it here first!
Trust me on this , They will be the team that calls L.A. home by that time. I got a gut feeling on this! New Stadium and the whloe 9.5 yards!
The question would be where would that new stadium be built?
The Chargers are looking for a new deal and I would have to say that if they some how end up moving it would be to LA.
So the Rams then get a new home in SD?
The San Diego Rams; kind of sounds nice. :)
Here's a question for you LA fans. If an exspansion or another team moves to LA who will you be rooting for? You can't pick both! Or here's a better question, if that team and the Rams are playing who do you hope wins?
