Rams line comes in at number 6 in Pro Football Focus league rankings

You can find the full article on their blog, but here is the Rams bit:

    6. St Louis Rams: +14.0
Stud: Both tackles Joe Barksdale and Jake Long (+8.1) are producing, even if the team probably expected a little bit better pass protection from Long.
Dud: This owes largely to Glenn Dorsey pushing him about, but Scott Wells (-3.1) is a guy more is expected of.
Summary: Of all the things you thought might go wrong with the Rams their line had to be near the top. But even after losing Rodger Saffold they’ve coped in a shock to us all.

I literally re-read the intro to this because I thought for some reason they were doing a backwards countdown and green meant bad, that's how much I didn't believe this ranking. They obviously do their homework though, so it's a much more educated opinion than most outlets.

What do you guys think? For context, the two worst teams are Baltimore and Seattle, while the two best are Cincinnati and Denver.

I think that pretty much shows how much PFF's rankings are worth.

This explains why Bradford has time for coffee and a danish when he drops back to pass.

OK and the huge holes the O-line is making for the RB--or should I say lack of them? If the Rams line is ranked 6th, that means the Rams have managed to acquire the worst RB by committee in the history of the NFL. Again if ranked 6th where are all Bradford's deep throws? Or like the RB situation the Rams have one of the greatest dud QBs since Trent Dilfer? I know what I have seen it it hasn't been pretty

I'm guessing this is just pass protection?

Barksdale's data may crunch tastefully but he seems to need TE help most of the time. And just because they're keeping guys in front of them a bit better doesn't mean the pocket is at all predictable or they're getting enough push to keep DLers from second effort pressure & batted passes. Watch any DEN game, esp DEN/DAL, to see the difference most starkly. It's a great trend in a key area- love the drop in penalties, esp, but let's see if it travels.

Like everyone else, I'm waiting to see if The Jags were THAT bad or The Rams have started to play fundamentally better football up front. I'm totally with AV & others who'd like to see more of Sam deliberately on the move in any case. I think it has the same confusing/tiring effect on a defense as the sugar huddle we'd all love to see more of as well as helping out the OL .

I think it speaks volumes about Sam Bradford as a QB.

One less excuse for him certainly helps my stance on him.

Yes I have, and quite honestly they have not been nearly as bad as some will have you believe.

You only say that because you have an agenda.

Bradford isn't bad and he isn't good, he's piqued already. He is what he is. He won't be winning us any SuperBowls that's obvious.

Even if that were true, what would Pro Football Focus League Rankings agenda be?

Sir, they may not be "nearly as bad", but they haven't been "good" either. The run blocking has been horrid at best, and the pass blocking has been merely decent. If you want to see spectacular O-line play, please watch the Denver Broncos.

    Arbitrary, unscientific and incorrect.
