Rams | Linehan optimistic M. Faulk will return

Rams | Linehan optimistic M. Faulk will return
    Sat, 11 Feb 2006 08:18:14 -0800

Bernie Miklasz, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports in an interview with Mike Grimm on KMOX (1120 AM), St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan sounded upbeat about the return of RB Marshall Faulk in 2006. "I've had a couple of really good conversations with Marshall and I think he's very positive about having a couple of good years left in him," Linehan said.

Re: Rams | Linehan optimistic M. Faulk will return

I have really been hoping he would go for 2 more years.

He looked real sharp last season, and to some degree has given his body a rest the last 2 years, not to mention time off when he was injured. I think he's a young 32 (or whatever age he is.)

Hopefully Linehan will try to use Marshall more as a passing RB on passing downs, and Jackson as the bull. Martz just seemed to name Jackson the #1 guy and tried to use him on all the plays that Marshall ran, like that reverse thing they botched. They have different styles, and if a coach actually made adjustments during the game (wonder what that would be like?) he could try using one or the other if a certain style was working better against a team on a given day.

I really hope he comes back and gets more playing time. The guy is still a playmaker and Jackson, for whatever reason, is going through a learning curve, and needs to be utilized differently untill he (hopefully) comes of age.

Re: Rams | Linehan optimistic M. Faulk will return

This morning I read the story on the "official" Rams webpage about how Faulk was in New Orleans helping to distribute food and other needed items. I have a feeling that this is the major issue that Faulk is dealing with that might keep him off the field next year. He spent his youth in New Orleans, and the tragedy there has hit him hard. I just hope he realizes that his return to the Rams will help him to keep the NO tragedy in the national spotlight, and continue to bring in assistance for those in New Orleans.

I hope Marshall comes back. He's still a great change of pace back, and still one of the best receiving backs in the league. He's my favorite player to ever step on the field and I just hope that I get to see him on the field for at least another season.
The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

I reckon Marshall should stay on for at least another season. He was criminally underused last season and here's hoping that Linehan recognises this and gives him more reps on the field if he does continue to play

Question, is MF pace to pace with JB for the most loved player in Rams history?
