Rams mentioned in Randy Moss talks

    from rotoworld:

Report: Patriots near deal with Randy Moss

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots are close to re-signing free agent Randy Moss.
Schefter says the Patriots have a "standing multi-year offer to make Moss one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL." Moss is perhaps realizing the market for him isn't as strong as believed, although we wouldn't count out another team like the Rams, Redskins, or Eagles making a last minute run at him. I would love to see Randy sign with the Rams, but I'm sure the Patr-idiots will re-sign him.

Well well well...Id love him if he did what he did this year for the Pats and keep his mouth shut and let his play do the talking. However thats a lot of money for a big risk.

Maybe Moss has had a sudden influx of moral values, and wants to stay away from a team well-known for cheating.

    Aw, who am I kidding?

Do we have enough cap to go after him? I wouldn't think so, especially since we have other needs as of now, and we better plan on giving our #2 pick a good bit of cash.

Unless we decide to trade that #2 pick...

if they are looking to get fans back in the seats. I would say signing Moss would definitely create some buzz.

id rather go after a younger guy though. Holt and Moss are both up there.

I don't know if the Rams can Afford to take a chance on the "Circus" That Moss is capable of. as long as he keeps his mouth shut we should have no problems. But still that's alot of money IMO.

No way we have the cap room to pull this off, he'd need to be the highest paid WR to come to the Rams.

It's nice to think that maybe he could be a Ram, but ...the reality is that he won't. With his salary, I'm sure we could sign 4 players. heh.

Re: Rams mentioned in Randy Moss talks

My concern would be the "I play when I want to play" attitude. If we aren't winning, we might see a repeat of his performance with the Raiders. I don't know. Maybe being reunited with Linehan would have an appeal to him, but I suspect the only reason the Rams were mentioned here is because we have a need at receiver.

    Really.

Just to start my Ram week off, I still feel and hurt from 'Bruce OUT' and now, a [though very remotely possible] 'Moss IN'.

Re: Rams mentioned in Randy Moss talks

Well...if he came here, would he act like he did in Oakland? He was on a team last year that was COMPLETE and we are nowhere near that, so if we did sign the guy, how would his attitude work? I just am not convinced he'd have a good attitude towards a team that is still building...dissolving...if you were on the Pats last year, there was no reason for any of their players to complain because hell, they didn't lose one game until the Superbowl. How can you not be happy with that? (discluding the Superbowl loss) So...again, I just don't think his attitude would be the same as it was last year with a team that did basically everything right. Yeah he has a QB here, but the winning was more of the issue for him than anything, atleast from what I understand about the man, I could be totally off...

10 mil a year, thats kinda crazy for a 31 year old. Eagles have way more cap and a bigger need. Redskins just don't care about cap they are like -6mil under the cap and yet they are inquiring about Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, and Lito Sheppard
