Rams Mini Camp

Rams Mini Camp Friday

The Rams will hold their Mandatory Mini Camp this weekend (May 9-11) in St. Louis at the Russell Training Center. This Camp will be closed to the public.

This is the time for first impressions, conditioning, implementing their playbook on the field, and developing continuity. Rookies will finally get a chance to show what they can do for this team and how well they are absorbing the playbook. Defesive End Chris Long will be garnering much attention through out the camp, I'm fairly sure he won't disappoint. Donnie Avery will probably blow others away with his speed, but can catch the ball well, how well does he run his routes.

Their are many questions that need to be answered this weekend.

Who will stand out this weekend?
Where will the rookie Chamberlain line up? Safety or Linebacker?
Which UDRFA will show teams he should have been drafted?
Who will line up at Center?
Is the LB Vince Hall for real?
Can Antonio Pittman win the number 2 running back job?
Can Marc Magro and David Vobora show they deserve strong consideration for the SLB position?
We know Avery is fast, but is that all he is? Did he really deserve to be drafted in the second?
How well are Bulger, Shea, and Saunders are working togather?
Show us what you got Jacob Bell?
How well John Greco will perform at Tackle?

And many more questions.....

Notes:
- Tye Hill, Carriker, Little, and Pace will probably not participate in the full practices because of injuries.

- OTAs (Organized Team Activities) will take place on May 15, May 22, June 5, and June 12.

- More news and notes will be posted through out the weekend.

What do you want see out of this weekend?

Re: Rams Mini Camp

C. Long, first look in his Rams gear. I think I have a man crush LOL...

I would like to see Marc looking like himself, Holt with a smile and Bell making a statement.

Hey! I saw Chris Long first lol.

I really would like the rams to find a center who is going to stick to the job and play nothing else. The center is responsible for the line calls, he's responsible for putting that offensive line in the best position possible against the opposing defensive line. If we can't stop this revolving door at center, we may never have the consistency and continuity we need at offensive line.

Re: Rams Mini Camp

Yes, we really need to make it through here while avoiding injuries. Gotta keep Pace healthy as well, he'll be key to the O-line once again.
I was hoping Tye Hill could get a full workout, I think he's due for his breakout year.

He has to. Antonio Cromartie is the best corner to come out of the 2006 draft. If Tye Hill doesn't start living up to his first round grade, the Rams and fans are going kick themselves for passing on Cromartie..........that's if were not already.

Re: Rams Mini Camp

Quick Hits From Fridays Mini Camp:

-
Al Saunders seems to be vying for the number 4 receiving job. 61 years old he's running sideline to sideline to get his message across. I like the upbeat style.

- Safety Todd Johnson had to miss mini camp for a important Charity Event.

- Center Dustin Fry had to miss todays practice to get married this weekend.

- Adam Carriker seems to be healing rapidly from his torn labrum injury, he's participated in just about every drill except anything strenuous.

- Orlando Pace (shoulder) and Leornard Little (Toe) both were limited to walk throughs and individual work-outs.

- Running back Yvenson Bernard, an undrafted rookie from Oregon State, failed his physical exam.

- Chris Long blew by Alex Barron (who was playing LT) in a drill today. I'm not suprised.

- Donnie Averie was fast of course and had some nice receptions.

- Rams are keeping an eye on the Bucs seven signal callers. The Rams would like to have a 4th signal caller in camp.

- The Rams are also interested in Bucs Running Back Michael Pittman.

I bet he looked good sporting jersey #72

I'm fairly sure it would be for a immediate back up roll to Steven Jackson. It would be nice to have a proven veteran taiback like Pittman behind Jackson. It kind of makes some sense, if the Rams want Brian Leonard to put more weight to be a stronger force at blocking, his primary role will be fullback. Who is left at running back? Antonio Pittman and Travis Minor. Antonio is sort of a project and Minor is mostly used on special teams. The Rams are going to need to get some free agent running backs in quick.

Running back Yvenson Bernard, an undrafted rookie from Oregon State, failed his physical exam.

It's clowns like these who disgrace the organisation. This demonstrates a sheer lack of commitment to what's supposed to be thier occupation.

What ever happened to the good old days? When Kyle Turley used to threaten the beat the snot out of Mike Martz during a private meeting. Now there was an examplary team player.

More Quick Hits From Fridays Mini Camp:

- LB Pisa Tinoisamoa appears fully recovered and did almost all of the work in Friday’s practice. Tinoisamoa is coming back from an MCL injury that landed him on injured reserve in 2007.

-
G Richie Incognito worked as the starting Right Guard.

- Mark
Setterstrom working as the backup center behind Brett Romberg.

-
OL Adam Goldberg is also recovering well from a knee injury and worked as the first string right tackle with Barron on the left side.

-
CB Tye Hill, who is coming off a season ending wrist injury, did all of the work and will continue that throughout the weekend.

-
Tackle Mark LeVoir left practice early with an undisclosed injury.

-
Chris Draft worked with the first team at strong side linebacker with Quinton Culberson also getting some reps.

-
No decision has been made official about the training camp destination though it could be done by the weekend. Concordia University in Wisconsin is the favorite.
