    You're right. I just get a little worked up with even the appearance of a holdout situation. If Fisher's just testing the waters and both parties can meet on an agreeable extension, then no problem. But if the word "holdout" becomes prominent in late July and August, I will have to revisit my perception of Mr. Fisher.

    But there's a lot of time between now and then.

    Just throwing a number out there, I think a five year, $22 million contract which included a bonus around $7 million would be appropriate for both sides.

    But that's just going on where I think Fisher ranks in terms of FA corners this season, and coming up with some numbers off the top of my head based on those comparisons. A contract like that would be well over what Herndon signed for, but still slightly under guys like Gary Baxter, Anthony Henry, and Fred Smoot.
