rams play of the year, 2006
I dont think that there is any question that the play of the year for the rams was the catch by torry holt at the end of the seattle game. If the defense didnt spit the bit on the last seattle drive, that catch goes down as one of the greatest plays in the history of the rams regular season. It really should anyway, even though we lost.
Question is what was the second best play of the year?
Based on the tomahawks recent post, i am thinking maybe the steven jackson catch and carry in the washington game during which he looked so big, mean and fast that shawn taylor ran away from him without even attempting a rich coady matador type tackle.
Other suggestions greatly appreciated. Off the top of my head.
1) Leonards sack early in the second seattle game that victor picked up and ran in.
2) Jacksons long run against minnesota.

Yeah, I'd have to say the catch from Jackson against Washington, the 64-yard TD run...That was absolutely disgusting. Even if any of them could catch up to the guy, they probably wouldn't want to, he really did put the name "train" to the game. If I were a defender, I wouldn't have blamed them, who wants to get hit by a train?
Re: rams play of the year, 2006
A few of Jackson's runs against Minnesota in the season's finale were pretty good. But I'd say, the Torry Holt catch, when that happened I couldn't control my screaming and happiness. But then of course, the 55-yd fg.....

How about the time Jackson plowed over a few seatle defenders to find the end zone
Re: rams play of the year, 2006
It's tough. The Holt catch was just AWESOME, but I would only put it the absolute best play if we WON the game. So since we lost, I actually have to go with the Jackson TD run in OT to WIN the game as my favorite play.

That's the one I was thinking of immediately too (after the catch by Torry). He just showed so much heart and will on that play, he kept going dragging several players on his back but nothing was going to stop him. That's one of those moments that defined Jackson's season for me, that's where I was thinking "Damn that's one fighter out there, he really wants to win just as bad as us fans, he's giving it his all every play and he'll score even if he has to do it all on his own and run over all 11 defenders" and that helped take away all doubts I had had about Jackson's character due to his offseason remarks last year.
A couple of Bartell's game-saving plays probably warrant attention here too.

Jackson's gw TD against Washington. I was in Virginia during the holidays.
Re: rams play of the year, 2006
Definitely the Jackson catch and run where Taylor was running scared.
It was funny in the pro bowl where Taylor thought himself to be the big man after he nailed Brian Moorman (who got straight back up by the way), but when faced with Jackson he just runs away.

I would defintitely have to go with the run by Steven Jackson against the Seahawks:seasux: It was awesome.

I had a good chuckle at that too. Thinks he's such a big man after nailing a punter, jeez I could've nailed Moorman - he doesn't really look like a terrifying opponent. Now Steven Jackson, that's a whole different ballgame, I'd get the hell out of the way if he was coming too!
Re: rams play of the year, 2006
IMO, the 2nd best play this year was Jackson's BRUTAL 10 yrd TD run at Seattle where he got stopped at the 5 ad drove 5 defenders into the endzone. THAT IS POWER FOOTBALL. Gets me pumped up just thinking about it. Now I gotta go lift weights and get in a fight!!!!
