    Rams Players Begin Workouts

    By Tony Softli

League sources and Rams players have confirmed that numerous members of the team will have workout sessions starting this week in the St. Louis area.

Team leaders James Laurinaitis, Sam Bradford and Ron Bartell have organized the team camp and about 70 percent of the team are expected to attend, including the 2011 draftees.

Sources say Bartell contacted both former Rams wide receiver Torry Holt to work with the young receivers and former Rams safety Corey Chavous to help with the secondary.

The team will conduct weight lifting sessions in the mornings and follow that with on-field drill work afterward. The workouts are scheduled for this week and might extend further.

I hope Torry and Corey help out, and I am impressed with Bartell taking the initiative to ask former players for help "coaching".

Holt is my all time favorite ram. I hope he can help our receivers out.

I am not 100% on what the majority of the teams in the NFL are doing regarding getting in some practice as a team, but it seems the Rams with Spags, are a close group who are going to do what it takes to keep this team on the rise for this season.
This team first philosophy is one of the reasons the Rams will prosper in these uncertain times with so much still to learn. Ive noticed that the Raiders seem to embracing good old fashioned hard work for a change also.
70% attendance will take some beating I would have thought.?

Short of "the lockouts over", this is the best news imaginable.
"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Torry Holt sounds great, but Corey Chavous eh? Hopefully he teaches them the awareness/mental/strategical concepts, and not how to sprint or run a 40yd dash.

These are the missing links we needed. Despags can talk to holt and corey both directly and tell them exactly what they want the team to do. This is great news to hear.
