Yesteryear...
Yes, thanks Dez for the list. It brings back much nostalgia, more than what used to be a cold sadness.
I remember the heartbraking winters of 1967 through 1970. Mighty clashes against Green Bay*, Chicago**, Minnesota.*
Really look forward to seeing the Packers again on Sunday!
Perspectives change for players, coaches and for us fans as well. We grow older, see clearer and understand a bit better. It's been our turn to win, however. We've done our time in the NFL, we've had great, tremendous players that became heroes fallen in final battles. Merlin Olsen, Tom Mack, Roman Gabriel, Jack Snow, Jackie Slater, Jack Youngblood, many more.
So close time after time... Victory was theirs! So close, so fleeting!
"...But things change, don't they?" [Ian Anderson / Jethro Tull, liner note from This Was, ca. 1968]

Cool
I just relived a roller coaster of emotions. I remember watching most of those games from the 80's in my parent's living room. For some reason that wild card victory over Dallas in 83 really stands out. I remember Feragamo had a cut between two fingers in his throwing hand. It was cold in Dallas. Leroy Irvin had a big interception which he returned ~90 yards but was tackled by Ron Springs (is that even a cowboy?not sure why I chose that name). All we managed was a field goal. But we still won. Dickerson was solid.
Lots of other memories about the other games too.
Here's to new memories. Go Rams!
