ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the St. Louis Rams have signed free agent WR Brad Pyatt (Colts) to a one-year, $432,500 contract. He will receive a $7,500 signing bonus and a minimum base salary of $425,000. Pyatt had a two-year offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers, but decided to take the one-year offer from the Rams.

Yep.
In 2003-2004, he averaged 26.7 yards per return. He missed last season with a shoulder injury.

2004
10 returns
230 yards
23.0 yard per return
I suspect he was signed to compete for the kick returner job. Don't be surprised if competition is brought in through the draft, though.

Re: Rams | Pyatt signed
If I was Pyatt I would sign with Pittsburgh with Randle El gone, but I'm glad we have him.
Perhaps if Looker does not pan out (he should) or McDonald gets a good offer next season, Pyatt could be like a 4th or 5th WR next season IF he pans out as a kickoff returner. Those avg. numbers are good, perhaps he could bust out for 1 TD too.
He'll probably be on our "hands" team for onside kicks and the fact he's a solid tackler helps him a lot if someone else wins the KR job.
