Rams & Redskins relationship?
Looking for speculation based on speculation I know... but with our pre-draft trade there was a lot of talk that the Rams and Redskins were showing favoritism to each other. Almost implying the trade worked out because they got along.
Is that relationship, if it every existed, damaged by Sunday's game or is the personal involved able to separate behavior on the field from behavior in the board room?
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
who cares? we won and imo we won the trade as well. I could careless if every team in the league hated us as long as we were getting wins..
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
Fisher and Shanahan coached together way back so IMO that is the connection for the most part. They seemed OK after the game. Both where not happy with the zoo like environment that the ref's kinda created.
The deal is done and we just helped ourselves to a higher draft pick next year with that win.
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
ESPN had a segment sometime last week and they were saying that the Rams got robbed and should have gotten more. They were stating that Redskins took a trip to the Bahamas in celebration of getting the 2nd pick because they knew.

Not a great concern just a curiosity.
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
I think the game Sunday has started a big rivalry. Go look on the Skins board, They hate us.

That's not what they said at all. The trip was entirely in celebration of getting the trade done...not because they thought they got the better of us. There was not even a hint of that. But thanks for your analysis none the less. :|

I don't know why it would. Shanahan and Fisher have both coached in the league a long time, it can't have been the first time their teams faced each other. It's just another game, sometimes it gets chippy, but neither one seems to be the type to hold a game like that against each other. You are out there to win, not play nice, and both of them know it.

I thought most of that stuff originated with Holmgren. Doubt if he even believed it. Just trying to cover his enormous butt, esp with a new owner situation looming.

Can you blame him? He had a choice of Tannehill, Weeden, or god help him, McCoy when he whiffed on getting RG3. I'd cover my rear too.
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
For the career of Sam and RG3 these two franchises will be linked and always compared and contrasted. We gave them the opportunity to draft RG3 and we kept Sam,which ever team does worse will be the team that will be criticized harshly. We need to turn these picks into good players and the redskins need to prove RG3 was worth the kings ransom they gave up for him.
Re: Rams & Redskins relationship?
I'm surprised at the huge thread of hate on their forum with most redskins' fans talking about how we are the dirtiest team in the game, threw late hit after late hit, and how we were the hones starting all of the shoving each time.
Oh...and no mentioning of the bad calls on the rams.

I can't blame him at all. Actually,I think he made the right choice by not outbidding WASH which could conceivably afford to lose those picks because they were already a better team than CLEVE & have a stable deep-pocketed owner & great HC situation to attract FAs.I think the media, as per usual, tried to create a controversy where there wasn't one & Holmgren just fueled it with a foolish comment.
And while Weeden may not be the answer at QB, Trent Richardson isn't a bad consolation prize. Didn't he just have his first 100yd game? Not bad for a kid who missed most of the off-season prep due to injury.
