    Re: Rams release Atogwe

Hopefully the Rams know what there doing, IF we do want to resign him. On most teams a player like O.J would never be in consideration for a franchise tag, it just showed how bad this team was.
O.J does want to play in St.Louis, he seems settled here. I do not think he will hold any bad feelings towards the Rams for doing this?
We will find out soon enough whether the rest of the league believe O.J is worth the $$$???, which I doubt.

Atogwe, however, was under contract and the Rams decided to release him prior to paying him a big roster bonus next week. Since he was released by his club, he's officially a free agent and can sign with anyone as of right now. He's not in limbo due to the CBA situation.

There is no longer a deal for the Rams to restructure; they released him, thus terminating the contract completely. They could still re-sign him, but it would be a brand new deal, one that anyone in the league is now able to sign him to.
That's a shame. I am going to hope for the best, but I thought perhaps we had some time on our side.

Apparently once the CBA deadline hits though, he can't sign with anyone either. So he has a window between now and then to sign, but has told the Post-Dispatch he's going to wait it out to see what happens with the lockout. So that's a plus.
