    Lenny Walls' tenure as a St. Louis Ram is over.

    The veteran cornerback, who was beaten for two touchdown passes Sept. 30 against Dallas and struggled against Arizona last Sunday, was released by the club Friday morning.

    The return to health of cornerback Tye Hill, who has missed the past four games with a back and rib injury, made Walls expendable.

    The Rams needed to free up a roster spot for defensive tackle Claude Wroten, whose four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse program has ended.

    Wroten has practiced all week and will play Sunday in Baltimore.

    One thing that you can say about Linehan is that he knows how to cut the fat. 1st Travis Fisher, then Jimmy Kennedy, then Walls. None of those guys are good enough to be in the NFL.
