Rams release Zac Diles and Renardo Foster

    Per rotoworld

    Rams waived OT Renardo Foster.

After not appearing in a game since 2007, Foster played in 10 for the Rams last season, starting one. His chances of making the team took a hit when the Rams agreed to a restructured contract with OG Jacob Bell in late July.

    Rams released LB Zac Diles.

Diles was signed in July with the intention of being the Rams' starting weak-side linebacker, but apparently got outplayed by fellow free agent signing Ben Leber. Diles spent the previous four seasons in Houston, racking up 223 tackles, one sack and one interception. A physical run defender, he should be able to latch on somewhere else.

Interesting start to what will be an interesting day. I think these two were on most people's "will make the roster" list.

Diles wasn't on mine, i hadn't seen anything on him for him to stay. Foster i'm surprised at, but i think they liked Ojinakka's versatilty more

I liked the Diles signing; shame he couldn't stick but it sounded like he was having a tough time with the defense. The good news is competition breeds success, and he wouldn't be expendable if the Rams didn't have other guys at the position stepping up.

Not very happy to see Foster go, this means that Goldberg is likely safe.

In our run up to the cuts today, we had the post with everyone's cap hits and I had assumed that Chamberlain was gone. Well, Diles was hire than him I do believe, so maybe Chamberlain's experience with the system and cheaper cap won over maybe a better talent than Diles.

Have to admit, being able to part with players of Diggs and Diles ability within a week feels pretty darn good.

As for Foster, I figured he was still #3 and Onijinaka was our 4th. Have to think the big O is safe now.
    I believe!

I thought Diles would be gone. The other guys can play ST so well.

a bit surprised ,there`s worse OT`s than Foster that are starters in the League...i like Goldberg as a role model but just like with Corey Chavous his own play does not warrant a place on the roster i feel, atleast with Chavous tho we didn`t let better players go to keep him.
i was excited about the Diles signing, thought he would be a starter for us when we signed him but then with Leber coming in and Poppinga looking to have no ill effects from last years injury,he was demoted to back up and with Jabara and Chamberlain there too..i can understand that one better than the Foster one.

as from day 1 tho as soon as Spags and Billy D got together my faith in them remains devout.

Ojinakka has more versaltility! and for Diles he just couldn't catch on and thank god! We have so many compititions going that it is making more and more people expendable! I hate to see some people go but hey this is the NFL, get used to it!

Just seen the cuts already today,. I am quite a bit surprised by Diles being cut so soon. Not because he is playing well or anything. It is more to do with my expectations of Diles being a good starter. He was the first OLB the Rams targeted in free agency, so you would kind of expect the Rams to do a better job in talent spotting.? De Spags truly does not take no prisoners, which is how all boss's should be.?

its funny, a lot of these guys being released would of been back ups/starters for us a few years ago easily. now were cutting them. this is truly a good sign.

    GO RAMS!!!!
