Rams Report: Backups get their kicks with Brown out

The St. Louis Rams might be in the market for an emergency kicker for Saturday night's preseason opener vs. the Vikings. Josh Brown missed practice this morning after tweaking his hip. Coach Steve Spagnuolo described it as a day-to-day injury.

While Brown rested, wide receiver Jordan Kent and tight end Daniel Fells did the kicking. The results were ... uh, mixed.

"Somewhere along the line that could happen in the middle of a game," Spagnuolo said. "And Tom (McMahon, special teams coach) has worked to find a second kicker. It has been Jordan and it has been Danny. So, I think it was good for those guys, maybe a blessing in disguise."
