Rams to retain DE Leonard Little

    By Jim Thomas
    St. Louis Post-Dispatch

INDIANAPOLIS _ At least one of the Rams dwindling number of Super Bowl ”survivors” is staying with the team. During a Sunday evening meeting here at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Rams informed the agents for Leonard Little that they are retaining the veteran defensive end on their 2009 roster.

Little, 34, has one year remaining on his contract. Although he counts $7.6 million against the cap this coming season, only $2.5 million of that amount comes in the form of base salary and roster bonus. So the team wouldn’t really save all that much money by trading or releasing Little, who finished second on the team with six sacks in ‘08 despite playing much of the year with a torn hamstring.

Little, wide receiver Torry Holt, and left tackle Orlando Pace are the only remaining players on the current roster who played in the Super Bowl 34 victory over Tennessee in 1999.

    Your kidding right?

Let me break the news to you buddy. It's not gonna happen. Everybody needs to get over Crabtree he will not be a RAM. He is OVERRATED BIG TIME. Not worth a top 5 pick. Everyone who compared him to Fitz is an IDIOT. Barely over 6'0", needs surgery. LOL

But anyways, I am very glad to see them keep Little. When HEALTHY IMO he is a top 10 pass rusher in the league, IMO he is the only one on our current roster who can consistently put pressure on the QB ( again "when healthy" ) It is so obvious to see when he is in the game our Defense is much better. Go Rams.

I read that today. Despite being listed at 6' 3, he was measured at the combine just a shade over 6 foot.

    Something like that.

Crabtree was 6-1 at the combine. No way we should spend a pick on Crabtree. It doesn't matter how good your receivers are when your line is garbage.

OVERRATED. Your right the guy is only 6'1" he has troubles going and getting the ball. Just look at tape. He sure can not catch the ball. How many receptions did he have thirty or forty las year???? The only idiot is a guy who claims someone is overrated but gives no details as to how he came to that conclusion?

Is it because he needs surgery and was willing to stick his neck out and do what it takes to show his talent. Is it because the so called experts question his speed as they did with Fitzgerald and Jerry Rice? Is it because he measured a couple of inches shorter than most believed he was.

Look at the tape and you will see a guy with perfect timing and knowledge of using his body to block out the defender and going up and getting the ball at it's highest point. You can call that overrated I call that good technique and talent. Maybe not the most talented athlete but when you look at film you will see a very talented FOOTBALL PLAYER.....

We need an offensive line, we need to win the battle of the "trenches" otherwise, we won't be going anywhere. I'm talking offensive line and defensive line guys, it will make our season worthwhile and the Rams alot more enjoyable to watch.

Crabtree measured barely over 6'0', not 6'1"

This is a good move. All we can do is hope the line stays healthy.

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Well, there wasn't much of a cap savings by letting him go so it's more of a business decision than anything.

I'm so bored this offseason already I'm looking outside at the sky to see how more black it could get tonight.
