Rams seek permission from three assistants

"There are three assistants under contract for next season, and the rest are up next month. Shaw says he won't make any staff recommendations to the new guy. Apparently Kollar is one of the multi-year guys.

I found out that the Rams asked permission to interview Saunders...that hasn't been granted yet. Rivera and Gray will also be interviewed this week."

Maybe with Vermiel leaving, Saunders would like to come over to be the OC, and Rivera could be the head coach?

Is that possible? Saunders knows the offense and would keep a lot of continuity. And Rivera (or Gray technically) could work on the D.

I like Al sanders if he could bring in a quality D cord as well, he also he knows the Rams well!!

I don't want Rivera I am 100% sure that the D they played this year was in favor of Lovie Smith. I don't think Revera did very much to help it.

Isn't Rivera relatively new? How many good season has he had as a DEF COORD?

Who's D is it ? Lovie's or Rivera's ..

This is Rivera's second year as a DC. I'd rather have a coach with a little more experience.

Unless Saunders loses his job in KC, it's unlikely he'd make a lateral move to another franchise. When guys leave a team, it's usually either from being fired or to take a better job (aka head coach). So for Saunders to come here to be OC, I would imagine it'd have to be because KC fired him for some reason.

I think Rivera is running on his rep.for being an outstanding defensive player for the Bears,next to Singletary in the LB corps.

Hire Rivera as the HC ? Sounds great, a lot of people are saying that this guy is the real deal as far as a Defensive Coodinator and that he is ready to be a HC. We need a hard nose guy leading our team next year if we are to make it to the promise land. God know's we have had our share of panzy's leading our team. Gentleman Defense wins Championships.
