Rams set to kickoff preseason schedule with Da Bears.

The NFL's slate of nationally televised preseason games will kick off with the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams squaring off in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game on Sunday, Aug. 7 (NBC, 8 p.m. ET) in Canton, Ohio.

Two emerging teams -- the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- will be showcased in prime time on Friday, Aug. 12 (FOX, 8 p.m. ET).

The Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers will travel to Indianapolis on Friday, Aug. 26 (CBS, 8 p.m. ET) for their first nationally televised game since defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers


Aside from the Bears game, here's the rest of the preseason schedule as follows
Aug. 13: Indianapolis at St. Louis
Aug. 20: Tennessee at St. Louis
Aug. 27: St. Louis at Kansas City
Sept. 1: St. Louis at Jacksonville

Looks like all our opponents are from the AFC. I'll be looking forward to facing Da Bears at the HoF game.

An extra preseason game... blessing or curse? Hmmmm.....

Nice to see the final game in Jacksonville. While that is likely to be mostly scrubs vs. scrubs, its only a two hour trip from my house!

RAMS TO PLAY IN HALL OF FAME GAME AS PART OF 2011 PRESEASON

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The St. Louis Rams will kickoff their 2011 preseason in Canton, Ohio as they face the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game at Fawcett Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 7.

The Rams’ preseason slate also includes home games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans and road contests against the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars.

“It’s an honor to play in Canton and pay tribute to the careers of our own Marshall Faulk and Les Richter, as well as the other outstanding individuals who are being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year,” Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo said. “What a great NFL event to be a part of and a tremendous experience for our team. We are excited to kickoff the 2011 season by competing against our preseason slate of opponents as well as participating in the Hall of Fame game.”

The Rams’ appearance in Canton will be the franchise’s fourth appearance in the Hall of Fame Game, and the Rams boast a 2-1 record in the annual classic. St. Louis last participated in the game in 2001 when the Rams defeated the Miami Dolphins.

The Hall of Fame Game will take place a day after former Rams RB Marshall Faulk and LB Les Richter are inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. St. Louis’ opponent in the game will celebrate the induction of former Bears DE Richard Dent as well. The Rams and Bears have previously faced each other six times in the preseason with the last meeting taking place in 2005.

Following their return from Canton, the Rams will host the Colts at the Edward Jones Dome (Aug. 11-15). The game will mark just the second preseason contest between the Rams and Colts. The Rams kicked off their 2006 preseason with a 19-17 victory in St. Louis.

In their third week of preseason play (Aug. 18-22), the Rams will remain at home to face the Titans, the team St. Louis defeated in Super Bowl XXXIV. The Rams and Titans have previously met nine times in the preseason, the last coming in 2008 in Nashville. This year’s game will mark Tennessee’s first ever preseason trip to St. Louis.

The Rams and Chiefs will resume their preseason battle for the Governor’s Cup when the cross-state rivals square off at Arrowhead Stadium in St. Louis’ fourth preseason contest (Aug. 25-29). Prior to last season, when the Rams hosted Kansas City in the regular season, the Rams and Chiefs had played each other in nine consecutive preseasons (2001-09). This year’s contest will be the 21st preseason meeting between the teams, with the Rams holding a 12-8 advantage in the series.

St. Louis will wrap up its preseason schedule in Jacksonville (Sept. 1-2). The Rams and Jaguars played preseason contests in Jacksonville’s first two seasons of existence (1995 and ’96), but this year’s game will be the first preseason meeting since. The Rams are 2-0 in the preseason series.

Specific dates and times for the final four preseason contests will be announced at a later date.

I love the idea of an extra pre season game. Only gives us more time to evaluate players.

Couple reasons I like being in the all star game.
1. More rams football obviously
2. Televised, dont have to go to a sportsbar
3. More time for the team to tune up with the new Mcdaniels offense before the regular season
