Rams shopping Steve Smith
With Amendola coming back, no need to keep Smith he has done nothing.Per ESPN Adam Schefter
He mentioned Smith as a receiver that could be moved today.
I hate to say it but Salas was better and has more upside.
The Rams are trying to squeeze every bit of juice out of this roster, you got to like.

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
Salas is on the Patriots' practice squad, in case anyone was wondering.
I can't imagine the Rams would get much for Smith, but when you look at 7th round picks like Daryl Richardson, its clear why trades for late choices are made.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
Back to Smith for a second.
He was the number one or two receiver at the end of camp. He did not produce and then was benched for two games. He then had a chance to play in the slot where he could do his best work and did nothing in the last three games.
The Rams took a shot and missed it just did not work out.
The bad part is he took reps from Givens and Quick. We let Salas go, yeah I know he is on the practice squad. But he is one of the highest paid practice squad players for a reason. He will be on the team next year, where Smith is already being let go by the Rams and clearly is not part of the future. Smith will go back to the bench this week if we get no takers.

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
as i've said before, as an SC fan, i've REALLY hoped he'd get back to his pro bowl form
shame he hasn't been able to do much
has that injury REALLY done this much to him?

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
I'd love for the Rams to pick up Salas off the Patriots practice squad if for no other reason than to annoy Belicheick. Also I think he'd contribute more than Smith who looks done in the NFL.

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
We got Lloyd last season for a 5th rounder, I'm guessing that makes Smith worth a bag of peanuts?

Re: Rams shopping Steve Smith
With Amendola seemingly becoming injury-prone, it's more obvious than ever that the Rams made a mistake in letting Salas go.
At the time, many of you criticized those of us who criticized the decision and later even gloated that Salas ended up on NE's practice squad. (As if that was an indictment of Salas' lack of skill.)
But I'm willing to bet there is not one, who thinks we're better off with Steve Smith instead.
Made no sense then, and makes even less sense now.Last edited by Fortuninerhater; -11-02-2012 at 09:43 PM.
