Rams should take a dive on Friday

I can't think of one good reason for the Rams to allow the starters to go more than a quarter on Friday against the Chiefs. If KC wants the Governor's Cup so badly that they will play to win, so be it.

The Rams are ready for their opening day game against San Fran. There is no reason to risk injury to any of the key players, particularly given that the Rams are coming off such a short week.

Take a dive, Mike!

I Agree Also,we Have Everything To Lose And Nothing To Gain By Playing The Starters For More Than 1 Quarter.maybe We Will See Smoker Get His Last Shot At Making The Team.

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

I don't see any good reason to play the starters much and I doubt Martz will.

On the other hand, it seems like DV is obsessed with the meaningless governors cup and plays his starters longer.

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

Let DV have the cup. This is a good chance for our back ups to get a lot of playing time and to get the rooks in for an extended period of time.

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

Definitely don't want to see too much of Steven Jackson in this game, or the other skills players on offense. Maybe a full quarter for the starting defense, but get 'em out of there.

Would like to see Marshall get a few extra reps with the first string before the end of the first quarter. Maybe Jackson on the first drive, Marshall on the second, and then Harris and Cason the rest of the way.

The Chiefs are known to Blitz a lot in preseason, so it's dangerous to leave Bulger in there. Let Bulger deal with a few Blitzes on the first 2 drives, but then get him out.

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

This is a completly meaningless game but KC always plays it like it's the Super Bowl. They blitz to kill all game.

I don't want to see Bulger or Jackson in there at all, but since we know they'll play a little, I only want one series. I'd still like the first string D to play into the 2nd quarter though.

I have a bad feeling about this game... :tut

Thats the way to go, don't let the number ones play from the start, take a good look at the young guys on the bubble. That way there is nothing to fix, after the last game we played, let get some rest, short week and all.

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

One full quarter?!

i think one or two series is enough, especially coming off a game only three days ago...

i hopt to see martin play the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters and fitz to man the 4th...

same goes for arlene harris and cason...

Re: Rams should take a dive on Friday

I think we should work on winning. If we have a 2 game winning streak going into regular season that will give us a big edge since we will have all that momentum. IMO

A 2 game winning streak in the preseason is not that important and isn't going to add any momentum going into the season. I would rather lose and keep everybody healthy than win and lose some key players. Let the back ups and rooks play this one and hopefully they can win it.

I don't want to see any injuries either and I didn't say we should keep the starters in long just like 1 series to give us a TD and then take them out.
