    Rams show interest in Shulters

Schulters receiving interest from 4 teams

Free agent safety Lance Schulters has received interest from four NFL teams since his release on Thursday. Those teams are the Falcons, Cowboys, Rams, and Lions.

Schulters played for Falcons Head Coach Jim Mora when he was with the ***** and Mora was defensive coordinator. Lions head coach Steve Mariucci was head coach of the ***** when Schulters played there.

Schulters was released by the Tennessee Titans on Thursday after failing to reach and agreement with the Titans on a restructured deal. The 30-year-old Schulters suffered a season-ending foot injury in a 15-12 loss to Jacksonville on September 26.

Schulters signed as a free agent with the Titans in 2002 and matched a career high with six interceptions that season. In 2003, he led the secondary in tackles with 89, but did not have any interceptions.

Schulters spent his first four seasons with the San Francisco ***** and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1999.

My gut tells me that he's goin' back to Mora or Mooch. Not that I wouldn't welcome him to our backfield, I just get the feeling it ain't gonna happen, IMO.

Atlanta is short on cap room without signing rookies. Dallas has a good chunk of cap but they have 4 rookies in the first 2 rounds that they have to pay for which will take a lot of that money.

Detroit has the cap money but just picked up R.W. McQuarters. I wonder if they'd still be interested to pay more than what we could.

If we could get Schulters, I'd be one happy camper.

What would be REALLY nice is if Hawthorn or Stone, or one of the rookies step up in training camp and earn a starting job at FS.

I am of the same mind Ramman68. With all the prospects we have at the safety position we need someone to step up and grab a starting role. If the Rams do make a run at Schulters I certainly wouldn't snivel about it, but I would prefer that one of the guys we already have fill the bill. We appear to have room enough under the cap to sign him, so I guess we will find out soon enough. :football:

Howard B was heard on the radio the other day saying that the Rams have the cap space and are interested in Ty Law.
