Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
Courtesy of the Carroll County TimesTYREE UPDATE: The Ravens have conducted a preliminary discussion with the agent for former New York Giants wide receiver and special-teams ace David Tyree.
The former Super Bowl hero has also drawn interest from the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Rams since being cut Saturday.

Maybe he'll make a helmet catch for us when we get to the Superbowl.

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
He did make a miraculous catch, but most of his career he has been more a special teamer. I would like to go after a bigger receiving threat.

He'd be great for special teams though, obviously. I still really hope we can get Reggie Brown, I think he'd be a BIG pickup for us.

Another Former G-Man trying to make his way to St Louis. Tyree is a One "Head Catch" Wonder, don't think he could do anything to boost the Rams receiving corp.
Think Spags could get Strahan to come back one more season and play for him?

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
Tyree is a great special teams player. Not much of a receiver but a pro bowler on special teams. I guess he could be helpful there.

As long as he's healthy I'm all for it.

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
It's not like Tyree would be expected to carry any great load as a starter. He'd be a veteran guy added for depth at receiver and a strong addition on special teams. If the Rams pick him up, it's because Spags supported the decision, which is good enough for me.

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
I don't expect him to play more than Stanley. So I'm not worried about the signing. He made one good play in his career...so yeah.

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
Sorry, but a PB nod several years ago when playing for media darlings NY isn't enough for me.
In the end, I wouldn't be surprised to see Curry re-signed or a vet with a similar possession WR profile.
Reggie Brown is the dream option. Experienced & productive in a similar system but still young. I doubt we have anything to trade that Philly would want nor do I think he'd willingly come to The Rams as a #3 if he's cut & had a chance to start elsewhere.
Would be freakin' cool if Billy could pull it off ,though..

Re: Rams showing interest in former Giants receiver David Tyree
Considering that I feel that there stand to be multiple better options at WR out there than Tyree, I think this would be a bad signing. We won't activate anyone we pick up this week anyway, so there's no real rush before we pick someone up, even if it stretches into next week. I say we wait until Reggie Brown or Deion Branch, or whoever else we might really want are released.
