Rams shuffle their roster again

The roster-shuffling continues unabated at Rams Park.

On Friday, little more than 48 hours before Sunday's season-opening kickoff, the Rams made two more moves. As expected, the roster exemption was lifted for left tackle Orlando Pace, meaning he is on the active roster and counts against the 53-man limit.

Offensive tackle Greg Randall was released to make room for Pace, who signed his one-year, $7.02 million franchise tender on Sunday night.

Also, the Rams promoted cornerback Dwight Anderson from their practice squad to the active roster. Linebacker Dedrick Roper, the former Pittsburgh Steeler signed earlier in the week, was released to make room for Anderson. Dedrick, we barely knew you.

The move leaves the Rams with only five linebackers on their 53-man roster.

Anderson, a rookie free agent from South Dakota, potentially will help a secondary that is thin at cornerback because of Travis Fisher's broken forearm. Anderson is fast, athletic, but very raw.

The Rams have made seven changes to their active roster, involving 14 players, since last Sunday's "final" roster cuts.

Man, FIVE LBs going into the start of a tough season, well we all know that sucks. I guess we will see a lot of runs

Yeah,only five LB's on the roster worries me as well.Our starting three are pretty solid,but if an injury should occur ,Well...we could be in deep trouble.I hope this is only a temporary situation.

Not use to seeing all these roster moves this close to the season. Its almost like the staff wasn't ready for the beginning of the season. I just see it as all the injuries catching up with us. I sure hope our 5 LB's can hold up.
