Rams sign another from draft class

    STLtoday.com Sports
    07/16/2005

The Rams and guard Claude Terrell, a fourth round pick of the team in this year's NFL draft, agreed to a three- year contract the team announced on Saturday.

Terrell, from the University of New Mexico, was the Rams' second pick in the fourth round (134th overall).

This is the third member of the Rams' 2005 draft class to agree to terms. Safety Jerome Carter (fourth-round pick) and running back Madison Hedge**** (seventh-round selection) have also signed with the team.

Terrell started all four years for Lobos, missing only one start in 51 games, and was twice honored on Mountain West Conference first teams, as a guard his junior season and at left tackle his senior year.

The Rams will open their training camp for the 2005 season on Wednesday, July 27 at Rams Park.

I like Terrell. I was surprised to see him last into the fourth round. I think he adds great depth to the interior of this offensive line, and sounds like a heck of a run blocker (IIRC).

I'm really excited about Big C. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as Adam Timmerman's replacement at RG.

From top to bottom this looks like the best draft class we've seen in a long time.

at left tackle his senior year
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but this comes as a shocker to me. I'm not really a Terrell historian, so I didn't know he played LT his senior year, and I CERTAINLY didn't know he was All-Conference at LT. He doesn't strike me as a lineman with the mobility to play LT, but apparently he does. However, I still envision him as a replacement for AT at RG.
