Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
I was actually just reading a piece on 3-4 teams and this years draft at NFL.com. Here is a link.

Do we have anyone besides the perennial dissapointment that is Jimmy Kennedy that is big enough to fill the middle and good enough to pull the double team?
Is Haslett considered a 3-4 guy?Last edited by ImJohnWayne; -03-20-2007 at 02:12 AM.

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
we dont currently have anyone decent enough and big enough to play as a NT in a 4-3, let alone in a 3-4

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
i think you can cross a linebacker off your list for a pick at 13. we are going to take the best defensive lineman available, period.
as for rumph, no money is disclosed, but for the minimum, i have no problem with him competing for the #4 spot. He isnt starter quality, but i know nothing about his special teams ability for one thing.
I like it a lot, i think this guy has to be an upgrade for coakley and thats the spot he is realistically taking. I would like to see us resign isiah for more special teams help.
ramming speed to all

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
Happy boy right here. Great news. I'm not high on rumph, but the opportunist in me says he hasn't found the right system for him to succeed yet. Maybe he'll find his feet in St. Louis.
As to crossing of LB for round one...i'm not going to count it out just yet. I'm rooting hugely for a defensive lineman- Fingers crossed- (*whispers*CarrikerBranchCarrikerBranch*endswhisper*) but i'd take a Pat Willis or Lawrence Timmons over say Charles Johnson or Javris Moss if the 'premier' defensive linemen are gone, which is entirely possibble.
That is to say, if Adams, Okoye, Carriker, Branch and Anderson are all gone by our pick, i wouldn't be against a LB at thirteen accounting for value.

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
Rumph is depth at the moment to cover for the loss of Fisher and maybe Butler

Dont you think it would be weird for Jackson and Rumph to be on the same team. It would be kinda weird to be on the same team. When u shattered the dudes arm.

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
How much money are we talking about? I assume Rumph is league minimum....if so, ok. But how much did Draft cost us? Assuming it wasn't for silly money, his versatility should add a lot to the stability of the LB corp.

Re: Rams sign Draft and Rumph--OFFICAL
I'm excited about what Draft brings to the table, versatility right across the LBing crew. This is a very good pickup IMO,should be an interesting training camp with Chillar and Draft possibly competing for the SLB spot. Then you throw in the fact that we have Pisa who unfortunately always seems to get dinged, and we have Draft who adds depth there and he also played 14 games last season at MLB so he truly is versatile. This would seem to kill any return for Dexter Coakley to the team.
Mike Rumph signing will at worst add a bit of competition at CB for training camp and at best give us a 4th CB with good size.He has never impressed me but maybe he will surprise us all,and lets be honest it can't be costing us much..:l

Good signing. and for a 4th corner rumph wouldnt be that bad. how good do you have to be to be a 4th corner. we dont need champ bailey playing 4th corner. just my opinion.
