Rams sign former Mizzou LB

"Two days before the draft, the Rams have made a move to bolster their depth at linebacker. Street free agent Dedrick Harrington, a middle linebacker from the University of Missouri, was signed to a contract Thursday by St. Louis.

Harrington was a nationally-recruited prospect out of Mexico (Mo.) High who had a solid _ if unspectacular _ college career at Mizzou. After one season at safety, he played his final three seasons at middle linebacker for the Tigers, earning honorable mention all-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2006.

Harrington, 6-3, 245 pounds, was in the Dallas Cowboys’ camp in 2007, and spent the later part of last season on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad. Prior to signing Harrington, the Rams had only five linebackers on their offseason roster."

Wow, big move by the rams. But in all seriousness I think a lot of people don't expect a lot from this kid but perhaps he can take his chances and be a nice surprise like Culberson

Once again the Rams find a bargain basement player other teams dont want.I understand we need to fill the depth at certain positions ,but why not go after a big name linebacker in the middle move Witherspoon outside????

Because that costs money...we have a draft coming up...and there is a salary cap...I liked him at Mizzou, but he's nothing more than a special teamer, and Im fine with that.

Wow. The front office is impressing me more and more as the days go by. After staying 4 hours later than I was supposed to at work, this is a good way to come home and relax.

The Rams are playing it safe, though cutting Bruce wasn't wise, we have to get over it. That is the only upset I've had this offseason, was cutting the veteran. Otherwise, I applaud to the front office for impressing me. Devaney = God. haha
