    Re: Rams sign Kenny Britt

I look at the signing as more of a "fall back" position with regards to the WR core. In terms of a solid add to the team, its more a MAYBE. And if he gets cut at some point, it wouldn't surprise me--its one more Fisher experiment.

And as pointed out, its still a win-win for the Rams. If he works out, great and if he doesn't he is gone with little or no harm to the organization. Hopefully the Rams will get a solid look at him through camp and if they have a dud on their hands they could cut him and pickup someone else's casts off after preseason, like another Danny Amendola

I will be happy if Britt can attain a level of play a bit better than D. Alexander when he was here, with more health of course. He dominated at certain times, was just clutch at others, but Britt may just stay on the field more.

Bailey will emerge big IMO though. Austin will be better also.

Assuming Britt is on the field in the first place. The dude didn't even dress for the Titans at the end of last year.

Britt was healthy at the end of last year and lost playing time to Michael Preston because Britt was dropping passes at so much they wouldn't even make him active for 3 of the final 4 games. He had 11 catches in 35 targets. Just don't see it with him.

Several years ago, it made sense to not get a 1st round receiver because of the myriad needs the team had everywhere. But now, there's simply no excuse to not take a Sammy Watkins or a Mike Evans high in the draft to give the guy you drafted as a franchise QB an unquestioned weapon. They may STILL do so, but with this signing, it appears less likely.

I feel it is unrealistic to think the Britt of two years ago skill-wise is the same guy as what we're getting now. I'd rather spend a high draft pick on a guy most people in the know feel can be an 8-10 year guy. And with the string of failed Ex-Titans we've brought in here, forgive me if I don't wholeheartedly endorse this move.
NJ expresses my thoughts precisely. My disappointment is that we refuse to make the necessary moves to add an impact player in the draft such as a Sammy Watkins. I really like Jeff Fisher as our coach, but why are we consumed with acquiring players from his team in Tennessee that never got close to the Super Bowl?

I am sensing with OTA's happening before the draft this year (I think that's the case), the coaching staff may get an idea of what needs to address sooner and those can be addressed later. I would be happy to see us grab Jordan Matthews in round 2, assuming he's there, over Kenny Britt. Just a head scratcher if you ask me. Maybe our low expectations will be rewarded.

    Go Rams!

3 games, 17 receptions is dominant?

This doesn't in any way eliminate the possibility of drafting Watkins. Let's be serious. Britt doesn't change that at all. Britt is fine depth. If he's starting week 1 I'll be shocked.

Automatic strategy to give BQ a wake up call, put him on the spot. I hope he responds positively.

    Re: Rams sign Kenny Britt

I like this signing as well. It's possible that his injuries have robbed him of his talents but he hasn't worked with quality QB's the last couple of years. It's not like he was just dropped by the Patriots or the Packers. It will be interesting to see if he has anything left but I also hope that the Rams don't think he's a guaranteed number one receiver. There is a lot of talent at the receiver position in the draft this year. It would be depressing if they pass on all of them and Britt doesn't work out.
