Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
January 12th, 2011 Jeff Posted in Roster Moves
The Rams had some contact with potential players from the CFL last offseason, but all decided to sign with other NFL teams, but this year they were able to pick up a WR/KR in Andrew Hawkins. Source: SportsnetJim on Twitter. Hawkins played for the Montreal Alouettes last season.
He looks like a Danny Amendola-type receiver with a little bit more top end speed. Would be great if the Rams could develop an actual game-breaking return man.
From reading some of the comments that were left on the website I was on it didn't look like he was THAT good but we will see.

Re: Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
Maurice Jones Drew is 5'6", totes the rock 20 times a game, and missed his first games due to injury this, in his 4th year, I believe... just saying...
The problem I see with it though, is unless you have the height to beat defenders for the ball, you better be quick as hell, and be able to get open like nothing. Maybe this guy can, maybe he can't. Nothing wrong with bringing in a camp body WR to check him out.I believe!

I wish one of these guys would actually come with the One Ring of Power.

I don't care if he's 5'8 or 6'8. If he can contribute and be a game changer, welcome aboard.

We're starting to look more like the Patsies with their midget rag tag receivers.

Re: Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
Maybe they'll line him up in the backfield ,have SJ toss him over the LOS, & Sam can hit him somewhere above the LBs. It's one way to beat the 8 man box. Who needs The Wildcat when you can run The Skeet ( The Gimli ?)? Hut one...hut-hut...PULL !

Re: Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
well i am surprised no one has suggested it yet..but just a hunch..i think that he is being looked at more as a returner.
wonders how many clannies were up in arms when Marshall Full back Chris Massey was drafted..

Re: Rams Sign WR Andrew Hawkins From CFL
Hmm... He seems like one of those little guys who can really chew up yardage fast when they get the ball. Maybe he pans out into a good return man?
