Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
Great news! .... I guess he was STL BOUND!!

The St. Louis Rams signed free agent wide receiver Danario Alexander and released wide receiver Brooks Foster, the team announced Sunday.
Alexander (6-5, 221) was an All-Big 12 performer at the University of Missouri last season after catching 113 passes for 1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns. He led all Football Bowl Subdivision players in receiving yards in 2009. In four seasons with the Tigers, Alexander posted 191 receptions for 2,778 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Bye Bye Brooks.

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
Wow, that's a shame about Brooks Foster. I would've, at the least, liked to see him play in the pre-season. Did anyone else get to see him? Or maybe I'm answering my own question here. Hopefully.
Danario Alexander will either be a huge success or a disappointing injury-prone WR whose potential was never fully realized. Let's hope for option A.
Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
Well at least there won't be a "Sky is falling" thread for if he had signed with the seahawks.
Lots of potential, big guy, could be a big steal
...or he could be a good filler for the IR. Even if he starts to look great, I won't trust those knees ever I don't think. Glad he is getting a shot though, and I would assume he thinks he has a good shot on a WR starved team like the Rams.
If he stays healthy, he can't be worse than what we have.

Does he play running back? If not, why did we sign him?

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
how does someone that goes for over 100 receptions and 1700 yards in one season not getting drafted anyhow? he must have had the worst proday known to man

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
He didn't participate in the combine or have a pro day prior to the draft because he was recovering from one of his many knee surgeries. Knees + multiple surgeries before playing in the NFL is a big red flag for teams. From the reports, he couldn't have passed a physical until just recently. That's why he wasn't drafted.

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
I wonder if he'll get an opportunity in Thursday's game - one or two plays maybe? If he is relegated to the practice squad as Nick suggested in another thread, can't help but wonder how long he'd last there before being snapped up by another team. Hopefully he'll show enough between now and August 31st to make the final 53 .. Long shot at best? We'll find out bye and bye ...

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
There is really no downside to this move. We pay him the minimum, after all he is undrafted. He has big potential, and could be a pro bowler. Also it is not like Foster was making any kind of splash.

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
Seattle is going strong after Vincent Jackson, why not us! If we give a first round pick who cares, it cant be any worse than drafting a WR in the first round next year. On top of that he is proven. And what if we can get him for a second, or a first in 2012. We did not do anything to back up Jackson at running back, for what reason, I do know. The same here with Vincent Jackson, we wont go after him because...................................?
Ownership!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Rams sign WR Danario Alexander!
At least they stay on the field.
/Barron logic
Mr. Alexander strikes me as one bad cut away from needing a walker for the rest of his life. In light of that, the glut of receivers, our unwillingness to do anything with said receivers, and the rapidly approaching season, there appears to be little point for this move.
Of course, I'm not a Mizzou fan either.
