Re: Rams to sign WR Miller

    Millers nfl career per wiki:

    Oakland Raiders

Miller went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, but was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent. He survived final cuts on September 5 and made Oakland's 53-man roster.[2] However, he never played during his rookie season because of a shin injury. On December 30, Miller was placed on injured reserve with the shin injury.
On October 10, 2010, Miller made his official NFL debut, returning a punt 46 yards in the third quarter of the Raiders' 35-27 win over the San Diego Chargers. On October 24, 2010 Nick Miller made a 32 yard catch along the sideline for his first career catch. On October 1, 2011, Miller was released by the Raider

The St. Louis Rams signed him on October 6, 2011.

hmm, my only question is why?

    Nick Miller

I'd only assume for kick return duties.

    Who? ... What?
If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

    Probably not.......so he'll be a corner.

This makes sense, especially with Amendola done for the season and the complete inability of anyone on the team to return kicks or punts. If he can merely call a fair catch and field punts, he's way ahead of the curve. I'm really tired of holding my breath on returns.

I certainly dont see this as a ringing endorsement of Norwood's kickoff return skills.
I would have preferred to see the Rams sign Ron Brown.

Solid signing. He was returning kicks and punts the whole time he was with the Raiders (not long). A lot more experience then anybody we have. Who will be de-activated in favour of Miller? Goodbye Gibby.

Re: Rams to sign WR Miller

As much as it pains me to say it, CB is actually a bigger need right now than WR. However I doubt there are any amazing corners sitting out there, and we do need someone who won't fumble punts or refuses to call for a fair catch. Tall order on this roster.
