Rams' Sioux Names
Recently, I watched the movie "Dances with Wolves" on TV, and I was thinking how much I liked the concept of names being descriptive of a person's qualities, characteristics or actions (my Sioux name would be "Dances with Little Dexterity," by the way). So, as we wait for Alex Barron to sign (which will happen in the next 29 1/2 hours, according to NostraRamus), I thought, what Sioux names would be appropriate for some of the Rams players (okay, so this is a long way to go for a topic, but at least I'm not just reposting things from news sites and other message boards!).
Anyway, here are a few to get us started:
Steven Jackson: "Runs With A Thunderclap"
Orlando Pace: "Impenetrable Mountain"
Isaac Bruce: "Squares Off His Patterns"
Kevin Curtis: "Blur of the Antelope"
Marshall Faulk: "Wise Warrior"
Or, how about a few for the opposition?
Terrell Owens: "Cackles Like The Crow"
Tom Brady: "Charmed Wave on the Tide"
Koren Robinson: "Hands of a Penguin"
Randy Moss: "Sees Only Reflections"

A ruling has just come down from the NFL that parallels the NCAA's recent ruling on Political Correctness. This thread and these nicknames are okay to use during the off-season, but they cannot be used during regular season.

Well, come to think of it, I find the following names offensive:
New Orleans Saints - there are no Saints in Judaism.
Dallas Cowboys - they used to shoot the Native Americans.
San Diego Chargers - I always use cash.
Pittsburgh Steelers - stealing is wrong.
Detroit Lions - some of my best friends are Christians, and lions used to eat them.
Baltimore Ravens - while the name "Raven" is not, by itself, offensive, I think that it is unfair that Robin, Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy don't also have teams named after them.Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
