Rams Starters Longevity Rankings (1-30)
Here is my ranking, from 1 to 30 (22 offensive/defensive starters and key reserves; I am not counting special teams), of the likelihood that the current Rams starters will be starting on opening day, 2009. Factors I am considering is the likelihood that the player will be on the team in 2009 (as opposed to traded, retired or cut), likelihood that the Rams will try to upgrade the position, and the investment the team has in the player for the long-term future.

I think leckey should be dead last. He and chaveous are the two worst starting players in the nfl.

How did Randy McMichael make it into 10th and 17th?

I think Randy McMichael is getting EXTRA love since he occupies both the 10th and 17th spot...

Regarding the O line, I can't see why Leckey (and, to a lesser extent, Cogs) is listed higher than Schuening. I think that Roy may well be a starter by the end of this year, probably at RG; Leckey will possibly be cut. Also, if we end up drafting Oher or Monroe in 2009, will Pace merit such a high position on the list? Or do you think that we won't draft an OT in the first round?

Re: Rams Starters Longevity Rankings (1-30)
I am really hoping that Scheuning and Greco will get a chance to play and prove to be future starters. Pace, I believe, still has a couple of good years left (provided he can stay healthy).
I do see a substantial chance that the Rams take an OT in the first round. If they do, Barron won't be resigned when his contract runs out (and someone else will likely overpay for him).

Re: Rams Starters Longevity Rankings (1-30)
You left off Alex Baron who will certainly be back in 2009. Schuening is Linehans version this year of Fry. No way in heaven is Drew Bennett going to make it past the 2008 season. In regards to Nick Lecky, no way he is here unless they keep his Godfather coach Loney on board, which they will not past this season even IF Haslett is HC, no way Loney will be retained. Part of our problem with the Oline is Loney handpicking one of previous failures at AZ lineman.
Loney is NOT one of the best up and coming OL coaches, if he was, he would have been snatched up last year by some NFL team, which he wasn't. Linehan, Loney and to some extent , Saunders are blind if they do not see that Lecky cannot control the point of attack and with an offense like this, it does not matter who the C has alongside him because the D will send the troops right over the C Keister on 3 out of 4 plays, which is happening right now and will get progressively worse as Lecky is beaten like a rug. Change this one important part of the Oline and we will magically look a heck of a lot better and the Oline will play a lot better.

Man, every time I fix one glitch I cause another! Barron was supposed to be #17, so I put him back in.
