Are the Rams suffering from "Brett Saberhagen Syndrome"?
For those of you who don't remember, Brett Saberhagen was a pitcher for the Royals and Red Sox back in the 80s and early 90s. From 1984-1991, he had this odd pattern of alternating good seasons and not-so-good seasons:
1984 10-11
1985 20-6
1986 7-12
1987 18-10
1988 14-16
1989 23-6
1990 5-9
1991 13-8
The Rams have been on a similar pattern since 1999
1999 13-3 (won division, Super Bowl)
2000 10-6 (lost in wild card round)
2001 14-2 (won division, made Super Bowl)
2002 7-9 (missed playoffs)
2003 12-4 (won division)
2004 8-8 (wild card)
So, that means that the Rams will win the division again in 2005, right?
