Rams talk to Shea
Rams talk to Shea; worked with Saunders in KC
By Jim Thomas
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH

It looks like the remolding of the Rams' coaching staff is taking another unanticipated turn.
Terry Shea, who was quarterbacks coach in Kansas City when Al Saunders was the Chiefs' offensive coordinator, was interviewed at Rams Park earlier in the week.
Shea would replace Doug Nussmeier, who has been the Rams' quarterbacks coach the past two years.
It's not clear if Nussmeier is out of a job or is merely being reassigned on the staff.
Saunders was hired last week by the Rams as offensive coordinator.
Saunders and Shea worked together from 2001 to 2003, and also in 2005, in Kansas City.
Shea, 61, was quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins last season but was out of a job once head coach Cam Cameron was fire

Re: Rams talk to Shea
Has there been any word on a DB coach? Isn't Jerry Gray still out there?

Re: Rams talk to Shea
well i have faith in Al...however,cant say the chiefs or `phins lit up the NFL during shea`s tenure in those places!
i know there`s more to meets the eye with coaches and the input they have on the development of players but still....is something to take on board!

Re: Rams talk to Shea
im not so sure we even need one as such, just get in a young recently retired QB and have Al take him under his wing...we only looking for someone to work with our number 2 and 3 qb`s for now and well...other franchises seem to be going along the lines of developing younger coaches from within being groomed to become HC in the future(not something new i know!) but is something we dont seem to have at the mo,even tho i think its a sound idea!
must be a young FOSL out there somewhere surely??

Re: Rams talk to Shea
I have to say, it seems the Rams have made some solid coaching moves this off-season. Only time will tell if my assessment is correct, but everyone they have pegged as replacements certainly have solid pedigree in the coaching circles. Devaney (on another thread) is the cherry on the top.

Oh My God! A Foas! If We Hire Someone Who Has Previous Experience With Our Current Coach, It Is Clearly A Bad Thing And Linehan Must Pay For This! I Hope Linehan Doesnt Sign Randy Moss Cause He Is A Fosl!!!

Re: Rams talk to Shea
what Randy Moss is the only FOSL i'd like to see in a ram uniform.
Anyways I like the hire. Bulger was the top QB for staying in the pocket. I don't know how you do that with one of the worst lines in the NFL. This guy will help him with his footwork and he wont get sacked as much. I'd much rather have a FOAS than a FOSL. Tony Richardson top FA FOAS
