Rams tender 8 exclusive rights FAs
By Jim Thomas
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
INDIANAPOLIS _ Continuining the offseason roster process, the Rams are making one-year qualifying offers to all eight of their exclusive rights free agents: DE C.J. Ah You, CB Quincy Butler, RB Kenneth Darby, LB Larry Grant, WR Jordan Kent, OT Ryan McKee, S David Roach, and LB David Vobora.
Vobora started 10 games at strongside linebacker last season. Butler started seven games at cornerback, all but one coming after Bradley Fletcher’s season-ending knee injury. Ah You had a sack and two pass breakups as a pass-rushing specialist before missing the last seven games of the season with a knee injury.
Exclusive rights free agents have fewer than three years experience in the NFL. Once the tender offer is made, the Rams have exclusive rights to those players. They either sign the one-year tender, or don’t play.

Glad to see they're retaining Larry Grant. I hope he makes it onto the team again this year.

That's a pretty depressing list of players if you ask me.

Re: Rams Tender 8 Exclusive Rights FAs
Just read that Barron is now being tendered as a second rounder. Hopefully someone pulls the trigger on that one.

Re: Rams Tender 8 Exclusive Rights FAs
I realize Barron has some issues with penalties. However he is not a bad offensive lineman. On top of that he's the only durable guy we seem to have had the last couple years. I'm not saying he isnt replaceable but he is durable and holds his own at both tackle positions.
Just Fix It

Re: Rams Tender 8 Exclusive Rights FAs
I absolutely agree with you. But we clearly selected Jason Smith to anchor our offensive line from the left tackle position. After moving Barron to that position this year, I find it hard to imagine him happily moving back to right tackle, and/or not commanding LT money with his new contract. I think we have no choice but to move him at this point.

Also, Barron was not a good RT. Moving him back to RT would basically create another hole on our offensive line. Better to just get a fresh starter to replace him.
