Rams trade Carriker to Skins

Reports differ on the return. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the Rams will receive a fifth-round pick while Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports the Rams will send the fifth-rounder they acquired from Philly to the Redskins. Former Rams coach Jim Haslett has been pushing to be reunited with Carriker since he got the Skins' coordinator job a couple of months ago. The addition of the former No. 13 overall pick makes it much more likely that Albert Haynesworth will be dealt in the next few days.

it appears that we sent them a 5th(the pick from Philly) and they sent us their 5th in return..oh and they got AC of course

I felt the same way after we traded Witherspoon so I'm reserving judgment, as I got served last time.

so basically we got Brandon Gibson & an early 5th round pick for Spoon & Carriker..

neither players we lost were good fits,so i guess if we look at it that way....it don`t look so bad...both may have been cut or in spoons case let to walk...

KFFL, Stltoday and ESPN all say the Redskins traded a 5th round pick in exchange for Carriker. They say nothing about giving a 5th round pick back.

Not much to show for yet another high pick although I agree that judgment should be reserved. A jump from #32 in the 5th (#163 overall) to #4 in the 5th is a good thing. Let's hope, if this deal is confirmed, that whoever gets taken at the new spot will be as promising as WR Gibson; the other part of the Spoon trade.

Btw, this kinda makes more sense now that DT Gibson & Clifton Ryan have signed.

I guess Haz didn't get my memo about throwing in London...lol..

He will probably start for the Skins at DE. I don't think he was really that bad, just had some bad luck health wise.

After he got his injury last season I thought he'd never play a down again for the rams. In training camp last year he was being beaten out of the DT spot by Gibson. So not a great loss but I was always hoping he'd live up to his promise and give the rams a solid interior lineman.

IF he can stay healthy he should offer you guys more than he did us...if he`s gonna make it in the NFL it`s gonna be DE in a 3-4..many including myself have felt that that position was always gonna be the position that suited him best in the NFL, even before he was drafted..we had fools in charge of our ship back then who thought they could fit a square peg into a round hole...

i wish him well...he`s a good kid.

There definitely seems to be something wrong with our player development. I just can't accept the fact that only 3 or so guys since the 2004 draft are making any sort of impact here.

just another great draft pick! the rams are ass backwords! first rounders dealt a year or two latter for fith rounders? This is not going to change until we get a new and faithfull owner.
