Re: The rams and ty law?

I don't think he'd be that bad to team chemistry, but his attitude does strike me as pretty mercenary. Even if we can convince him we're a contender, it sounds to me like he's more about the money than another ring.

"Keven Lerner, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports New York Jets CB Ty Law expects to be released shortly and that a reunion with former Jets head coach Herman Edwards, who is now coaching the Kansas City Chiefs, is a possibility. Law added that he didn't know if the team could afford him and Chiefs CB Patrick Surtain. 'Is the (Super Bowl) window still open for the Chiefs?' Law said. 'Can the offense still get it done? And can they afford me and Pat?'"

He could just as easily have been saying the same thing about the Rams.

Are you sure he coached him? I thought Mangini went there last year to be DC ... Or was he a position coach before? Anyways I know before Law signed with the Jets last year the Rams made a strong push to get him but couldn't get an interview.

Mangini and Law were together in New England when Mangini was in charge of the defensive backs.

I'd prefer to go with youth at the position. Law having a Poston as his agent sums up his attitude for me.

    I say no thanks.

I'd still pass 16. If he's such a leader, why do people keep letting him go? Why did he last so long in FA last time round?

    And a Poston is poison...........

Last year he lasted so long in free agency because people wondered whether he would bounce back from a nasty foot injury and he was asking for too much money. Even when he did sign with the Jets, the deal was laden with incentives. This year his foot should be fine, but he is still asking for far too much money. He was a cap casualty at both his last stops, so I really doubt he's in our budget.

I don't know, 10.0 for that guy? I just remember how Tomlison passed by him and I don't think he is worth 10.0

Instead of spending $10 million on a Geritol spokesman, spend it on young players who can develop into players that will remain with us a while.
