Rams Update: Amendola Returns To Walking Boot
Rams update: Amendola returns to walking boot
3 hours ago • By Kathleen Nelson
Wide receiver Danny Amendola missed practice Wednesday, the first in preparation for the Rams' game Sunday against the San Francisco ***** at the Edward Jones Dome.
Amendola suffered a heel injury against the Jets on Nov. 18 against the Jets and walked the sidelines during practice last week in a boot. He was listed as doubtful for Sunday's 31-17 victory in Arizona but appeared in seven plays and caught one pass for 38 yards.
He sat out the second half, and coach Jeff Fisher expressed guarded optimism that he would be able to practice this week.
Instead, Amendola stood on the sideline Wednesday, once again with a walking boot on his right foot.
Others missing practice were center Scott Wells (knee), who played Sunday in his first game since the season opener because of a foot injury, running back Steven Jackson (foot), defensive end Robert Quinn (concussion) and linebacker Mario Haggan (elbow).

***** coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Wednesday that second-year quarterback Colin Kaepernick would start Sunday against the Rams. Kaepernick had served as a backup to Alex Smith last year but stepped in the Niners' last meeting against the Rams, a 24-24 tie, when Alex Smith suffered a concussion.
Kaepernick started and impressed the national media with his performance in San Francisco's victory over the Bears and started again Sunday in a win over the Saints, even though Smith had been cleared to play.

Rookie cornerback Janoris Jenkins was named NFC defensive player of the week after returning two interceptions for touchdowns against Arizona. He was the first rookie to accomplish the feat since 1960.
Jenkins also is the third Rams' rookie this season to earn one of the league's weekly awards. Kicker Greg Zuerlein and punter Johnny Hekker as special teams players of the week earlier this season.

Anybody know how you hurt your heel playing football. Danny sure gets some strange injuries.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that). ;-)

Amendola is doubtful according to a lot of people. God I love him when he's healthy but I really don't see how we could give him a multi year deal.

Maybe DA will be on the field today as the decoy man on a few plays? Aaagh! Such a play maker!

Gives 111% even when he's not 100.
