Rams V Pats (London) - Will there even be a game?

"The NFL will continue its temporary postponement of general admission ticket sales for the October 28 game between the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium for a short period.
The reason for the postponement is to allow the Rams and their stadium authority time to finalise the technical amendments to the lease required under the terms of the Rams' commitment to London.
The Rams have expressed optimism that a resolution is near, and we will provide updates as information becomes available.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the following at his press conference today in Indianapolis: “We’re going to play the London games. We hope it will be with the Rams and the New England Patriots next year. That’s what we planned…but there are issues that obviously are going to have to get resolved. We know there are discussions going on. We hope they will get resolved shortly.

We regret any inconvenience caused over the past two days and thank you for your continued patience and support of the NFL."

Does this have anything to do with the commitment to home games being played at the dome I wonder? I was looking at the £100 ticket.

    Hmmmm...

Yes, there will be the game. The NFL and Stan want to play there. That's all that matters in the end.

This will go down in one of two ways. First, the CVC backs down because Stan agrees to a slghtly better proposal between then CVC and the Rams on the renovations for the EJD. Second, the NFL agrees to pay the CVC the money that it would have lost due to the loss of the home game. My bet is that it'd be the average of the other seven.

As for which one happens, I think the first. The CVC is bent over a barrel on that and this is the only leverage they have.

I agree with everything you said except this. It would have to be no less than the money the CVC would make from a sold out stadium, as the cheatroit fans would surely purchase any open ticket that a RAMs fan wouldn't already have locked up. On top of that should be money that the city would lose from the opposing team and traveling fans staying in the city. Removing the game from St Louis doesn't impact only the dome, but a WHOLE LOT more. All of that money should be paid to St Louis for taking one of their home games without previous negotiations.

Oh, I fully understand that the lack of a game will affect a lot more than just the CVC cut of the game. However, the Rams have a lease with the CVC, NOT the rest of the businesses of the St. Louis area. Yeah, they get screwed over in this situation because they won't get compensated, but if you think about it, they've actually been doing BETTER business with the Rams sucking, because all of the other teams' fans travel and spend money in the city!

But since the CVC is bent over a barrel with the state of the Dome, and this being their only card. I'm betting that they have to take less than they first demand on compensation. The most fair way to do it, average the other games. I very well could be wrong, but if I was Stan/Goodell, it's what I would propose and demand. If they want a bigger compensation package, make a better Dome and raise that average income.
    I believe!

I wonder if this is playing out like Kroenke imagined. Has he come out with an explanation as to why the agreement clause was missed or ignored? It should be interesting.

Actually, serious question here. How many other NFL leases insist on 8 regular season home games?

I agree with Teke on the point about reimbursing the city for loss to local business. It might not be what you would consider fair to take away a home game, but they don't have a legally binding contract.

What about local Rams fans in the UK, don't we get reimbursement if it doesn't happen?

An all expenses trip to the Edward Jones Dome, in the best tickets money can buy then please. Because that's what I'd be having if the game gets played at Wembley, considering I shelled out for the top of the line tickets

    I'm in.

    Block 529, row 20 - 2 x £80 tickets.

I ran through the booking process three times before it gave me South Stand Tickets, I hope what was said on here is correct and the South Stand is designated for the Home Ram Fans!

    Hull, Yorkshire & England
