rams vikings, my pregame goals
My pregame objective for the rams vikings game is very simple. NO INJURIES. In my opinion, there is nothing that the rams can win in this game, there is really only downside, and that is injury risk.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
I agree injuries are a major concern.
However, the coaches need to see the players play in game speed. At least the players that have a shot at making the team.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
No injuries is the goal of every NFL team in pre-season, but the simple fact is injuries are a part of the game, its all about how well our team is ready with the back-ups to come in & pickup the down time of starters due to injuries.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
My goals simply start off with seeing that Holt, Pace, and Pisa are back from their injuries. I would like to see Holt catch a pass or two, Pace do some run and pass blocking, and Pisa make a tackle or two. Once that happens, get these guys out of there. My other goal is for Carriker to get some good quality experience out of this game. I know there is concern with injury when your starters play a lot, but this is one starter that needs to play a lot. If these two things happen and no injuries, then it was a successful game in my eyes.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
My hope is that Minnesota has to start Brooks Bollinger for the season because Carriker picks up and throws Matt Birk into Tavaris Jackson from five yards away.
I guess the no injuries to us is a good one too...

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
I'd love to see us go 4-0, but It don't matter. 4-0 or 0-4, just stay healthy, and go into the season and through fists. Incognito...don't get excited, it was just a joke.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
The thing I look forward to most in preseason is watching the young players and second team guys. You never know who will have to step up when the injury bug bites.
You guys think that Bartell will get a lot of reps?
I'm sure Wade will more than likely play the majority of the game.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Maybe not now, but soon.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
Yeah, I definitely agree about the injuries. I want to see how Wade/Carriker/Ryan and such are, and maybe a Leonard Leap (don't kill yourself Brian). No pulling Kyle Turley's (Cogs). I hope Pace, Pisa, and Big Game Holt show what they can do as well. What would really be cool is if Dante runs a kick-off for a TD on the first play of the game, though I am not sure if he's playing (hamstring).

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
Holt needs a preseason game like he needs another hole in his head. I dont believe that after years of working together, holt and bulger need anything more than practice to keep the timing intact. Bottom line is that holt knows his body the best and we dont need to see him do anything in preseason, we need holt, pace, pisa etc ready to go vs. carolina. The coaches need to see it in practice, we as fans, have no need to see anything. Sure, we all miss seeing the stars play, but the regular season will be here soon enough and if we want to win and get to the playoffs, good health is critical.
I agree 100% that the young guys need to play a lot more to get some game experience and to help the coaches evaluate them.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
One thing that you can be sure of is that eventually, unfortunately, someone is going to go down. Hopefully, not for long, but lets see who's backing them up. Let's see who's gunning for a spot.
This is when one or two (hopefully more) of these youngsters shows us why the Rams drafted them.
I'm crossing my fingers, my toes, my eyes and whatever else I can think of that this kid from Nebraska can ball.
I want see if the thrusters on Wade's wheels can be complimented by sound tackling and coverage skills.
I would like to see Leonard catch a short pass make the mlb whiff and aim for the cb between him and the endzone.
I also want to see two fat boys fight over a roster spot like it's the last donut in the box.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Maybe not now, but soon.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
I agree, get out of the meaningless game, "injury free", would be my main concern.

Re: rams vikings, my pregame goals
Let's just have our starters go in and score a quickie and then lets see what possible talent we have, hopefully defensive.

MMMmmm donuts.
Also, I'm interested in the outcome between Fitz and Berlin. Berlin's getting praise. Fitz is MM's legacy.Patient, not saintly.
