Call me crazy, call me delirious, call me irresponsible. I think we have the best D in the league right now. I feel we can stop New York Giants in the playoffs. They get all screwed up when they face tough D. The Bears have no Offensive line what so ever. So that leaves me to who I think right now is the best team in the league. The Patriots. So my question is to you. CAN WE BEAT THE PATRIOTS IN DALLAS?
I'd love to have a Super Bowl rematch with Spags as our HC and Belichick with the Patsies, and then slaughter them 55-7 with the help of a talented defense, an exceptional offense, the football gods' blessings, and karma.

I predict that by this time next year a lot of people will be talking about the Rams playing in the Superbowl. Anything is still possible this year but next year I think the team will make a huge jump and be a dominant team in the NFL.
Best D in the league? Maybe one day...but not today. By the stats (averages since some teams have had byes), you could make the case that we're a top ten defense halfway through the season. However, our corners don't get a lot of interceptions, and our defensive line runs hot and cold--they've had some really stellar performances and some they'd probably rather forget.
Can we beat the Patriots in Dallas? Now that's really jumping the gun. What about the Steelers? The Ravens? The Jets? The Pats could still lose their division with NYJ only a game behind at this point. As for us, recall that we've lost to Tampa and Detroit among others this season. If we hold to form and lose 50% of our games, we won't advance far in the playoffs. Hypothetically, if we faced the Patriots, sure we could beat them. I like our odds of beating them in one game at a neutral site better than our odds of finding ourselves in that situation in the first place.

when I saw that thread I got a lump in my throat, that sentence brings back some really mad memories of course until I read it and realized you were talking about this year,I like your ideal but I think it might be a bit premature,if we were 4-4 and had our first half of the schedule to play yet then I might agree but this next 8 games will not be easy.Quote:

we would need our WRs to really step up and play like top talent. our secondary would have to catch all those dang possible picks. could it happen? sure. let's see what spags can draw up and get us our first win on the road. agree that next year we can make a serious run with a few more key moves and a healthy squad.
